Hi Peter,

Most people eat their meal ( containing the 20 gms of fat), then take the Incivek shortly after. There is some evidence that Ribavirin also is better absorbed after some fat, so it is OK to take the Incivek and Riba  together, particularly in the mornings. You probably have organised a routine, with alarms so you don't miss a dose. If you are on Incivek 3 times a day, make sure the doses are almost exactly 8 hours apart, to keep a constant blood level. I was on Victrelis, which has the same timing, and chose 6am, 2pm and 10pm. I also took Riba at 6am, then again at 7pm. The Riba timing is not as important. Cheers.

Hey Peter

What they are trying to indicate is the fat portion should be eaten sometime within the 30 minutes of the start of your meal. It could be in the first minute or near the end of the 30 minutes just as long as its with the required 20 grams of food with a fatty content. 

What you are currently doing is fine, the drugs seem to work better / absorb in your digestive system with a portion of fat, so when you combine them with food it does the trick.

Their many good choices and healtly ones like the better choice of nuts like walnuts, pecans, pine nuts, cashews and many other foods.

Hi,

 

I've only been on triple therapy for a week. I tried doing a search on this topic but didn't find anything. The directions for incivek say to eat a meal containing 20g of fat within 30 min of taking the pill. Does that mean that I should wait until 20-30 minutes after I eat to take the pills, to maximize absorption? Or can I take them with food? I have been eating half my food, taking the pills and then eating the rest of the food. Or if its late at night sometimes I eat 20 minutes before taking the pill. Is there any benefit either way? I think I might be splitting hairs here, but hopefully someone has some feedback on this! I just want the drug to work as well as possible.
