Hey Bob, you did Victrelis, didn't you? 44 weeks of Incivek would've put you in another dimension, lol!!

Thanks Tig, I think I would rather do the Vic myself but I am getting treatment through VA so ultimately its their choice. My nurse showed me the paper as the reason to change my original treatment with victrelis to Incivic so I'm not sure I can sway them back. They are saying overall VA rates of SVR are in Incivic's favor. True? False? I'm not sure but I do know they are spending a butt load of money on me so it would be in their best interest to get me cured and down the road. I know the government doesn't usually think logically, but I just don't know.

And you are exactly right, every time I follow someone's history on here, or on another site, or read another report,it puts a different slant on it. And then I read up on new studies, and wonder if I should wait for the new drugs. And in the mean time my obsessive/compulsive behavior kicks in and I search for one more study or history. Haha, so... guess my best option would be to work what ever program we settle with, compliance, water, water, water, exercise, and hopefully you guys will let me hang out here a bit, and keep nudging me in the right direction. I do appreciate any advice, support or butt chewing any one thinks would help me. So thanks to  every one in advance. If there is any thing I can d

Hey John, I think both Incivek and Victrelis have good track records, but I believe Victrelis has an edge, particularly with cirrhotic patients. The constant perfusion over the entire course of treatment seemed beneficial. I also learned some time ago that you have to be careful with all the reading. You can find a study or a report that will support or condemn just about anything. Be sure what you're reading is current and recognized by well known authorities.

Thanks Mallani. just like to hear a reassuring word before I take off on this to hear later I didn't have a chance from the start. VA published a paper dated 10 Nov. 2013 that I saw saying their results were a little better with the Incivic. I found it on the computer the other day but didn't save the link. If I can find it again will post it for you. Thanks

Hi John,

Those levels are within limits for a cirrhotic. Your Hb and platelets are good. I'm surprised VA has changed to Incivek, but just go with the flow. Your VL after the leadin will be important, together with the VL after 4 weeks of the Incivek triple. Best of luck and hopefully you will avoid the Incivek rash and ano-rectal problems. Cheers.

Was origionally going to start on Victrelis, and after I started my 4 week lead in my dr decided the Incivic would be better. So am starting it next week, which will be end of 4 week lead in. She is VA doc and said they have been using Victrelis until now and has limited experience with Incivic. Had  high AFP level so had biopsy and MRI that showed 2 benign lesions of 4-5 cm and f4. She seems willing to work with me so am wondering if there is any thing I can bring to her attention as far as Incivic treatment, or any thing I need to be aware. Guess what I am leading up to is....Am I still treatable with these levels? these were taken before I started 4 wk lead in

AFP 79.8

INR 1.07

alt  184

albumin  3.4

alp 139

asp 200

bilirubin  0.6

ggt 242

erythrocyte mean 35.9

hemoglobin 17.4

mean corpuscular volume 102.3

platelets  139

every thing else is in normal range. Im just not seeing others in these ranges and am wondering what my chance of svr are? Doc says 60% but an wondering if that's realistic  Thanks
