i totally agree w/ tig's suggestion. you may even see a review of my old dr. there. also do read the list of #1 2013 nj drs.

my new dr. is a gastro & heptologist who has access to clinical trials, a patient portal, returns phone calls and is associated w/ overlook mountainside hospital in montclair,nj.

if you have any further ?'s feel free to send me a pm, for i live in northern nj as well.

Hello Restat,

Welcome to the forum. It's difficult to say who is the right doctor for your family member. There are a some ideas you might try but beyond that it's best to seek recommendations from friends or family. 

The ideas I suggest are; Contact your insurance agent and ask for network doctors that come recommended by them. Often insurance carriers are well versed in the who's who of the medical community. There are also two physician rating websites. They are:

http://www.healthgrades.com/ and http://www.ratemds.com/

Hello All,

I just discovered that a family member has Hepatitis C.  She does not like her current doctor and is reaching out for help.  She is in the Northeastern U.S., and wants to find the best doctor she can.  I don't know where to start looking, but The Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and various New York hospitals come to mind.  Could anyone point me in the right direction for where to find the best treatment?

I would so appreciate any help you guys can offer . . .
