Hi everyone! Glad to see so many people with positive experiences thus far. After taking my evening Riba dose yesterday I got really tired - didn't have any issues falling asleep or staying asleep. I usually wake up like a zombie (i am so not a morning person) but I actually woke up okay today, as if I got a really good night's rest. I also often think of the warriors who have gone before, and those still on that dreadful interferon regimen. I know that whatever I experience will be a drop in the bucket compared to them. Those of you who have gone through that or are currently on that, you've got my utmost respect.

Day 2... off to kill the dragon (in the snow!) biggrin

Kristen, Welcome . That first dose is hopefuly the begining of the end of your battel with C   . Im 8 days into the same as you, and so far its been very easy on me. After the first dose i kept waiting for the adverse event to start and it was a NO SHOW!!  8 solv and 48 riba into it and its been uneventful. Some inner shaking at rest but not bad, slight itch not bad and sleep trouble.  all easy to deal with. Im not complaining, compared to those that have gone before us, they had it rough. Best of luck, stay with it, I have a old OOGGAA HORN  alarm on my smart phone that reminds me of my 5:00 am and pm doseing, it works for me!!  RC

Hi Kristen

Welcome to 1 day, its a journey that has its up and downs. Best thought, be as  consistence with your Meds as possible with 100% compliance as your goal.

Sometimes it will be mind over matter, and will power that will get you through to the other side or next day.

Best wishes

matt

Thank you everyone. I made myself eat breakfast once I got to work and took my first dose of riba. About an hour later I was ravishingly hungry which doesn't ever happen in the morning. I drank lots of water throughout the day and aside from a brief moment of strange nausea after eating my lunch things were fine. I am cooking dinner now and will take my next dose of riba. My stomach has pretty much  been growling all day. Maybe it's just not used to breakfast.

As for the weather, I am a native NY'er.. born and raised on Long Island - moved to NC a little over two years ago after experiencing "the worst winter in 65 years" in the tri-state area. Now this cold and snow has followed me. One of my headlights went out the second I turned on the car this morning and my check engine light came on as soon as I turned it on to come home. Not really how I planned on easing into treatment but I guess that's life!

The forecast for tomorrow into Thursday is now at 8-12 inches which in NY isn't much but for a place where there are no plows and no salt trucks - it's rather amusing! Hopefully work is closed tomorrow but we shall see.

@ Jill - don't float away over there, we need you on here!

@ LT - i was "stalking" your posts the other day to see how you were doing! LOL

@ Tig - i'm going to take your word on this "flying by"

@ Loopy Lisa - i was hesitant as well, scoping out the forum and following people's progress. I will post if anything weird occurs, or maybe just to say nothing weird has happened. Look forward to you joining "The TX Club"

Wishing you both treatment success! The time really does fly by, it just doesn't seem like that's possible during your first week of Tx.

Hearing the winter storm warnings reminds me of my good fortune and great locale. My daughter lives in North Carolina and just sent me a picture of her heavy snow fall conditions, they don't get snow! My weather forecast just announced our high today will be 82! Mowing the lawn or shoveling snow, you decide!

Welcome to the Tx club Kristen!!   I am on day 9, and so far it is not bad at all.   You will do great!

Stay safe!  I'm in upstate NY, and it is FRREEZZZING here.  Painful cold, and we are not really used to this either.  We have tough winters, but this one is ridiculous...

Hi Kristen and a belated `good morning` to you too!  Congrats on starting your treatment today, your journey to good health starts here!

The weather is crazy everywhere this year, over here in the UK we`ve just had the wettest January for over 200 years and more rain to come.  Stay safe and warm until the storm passes, and let`s hope it won`t be as bad as predicted!

Wishing you all the best of luck, hope your treatment goes smoothly!  smile

Good morning Everyone,

Today's the day I start treatment; the first day of the rest of my life! Oh and we're under a winter storm warning until 6pm Thursday! We're not supposed to get winter storms in the southern Piedmont of NC!  no

Have a great day everyone!
