Hi Cinniman Girl.

Yes, I knew that was the approved tx for 1a. Believe me I tried for the Inf free combo. No luck. They wouldn't even try. The side effects finlly did catch up with me this p.m. But I wasexpecting that.

Hi Angie.

You and I have some similarities w/ tx and chronic headaches. I ended up having to take something for mine too. Headaches were my big concern. Hope they go away like yoursdid. Thanks for the info, and good luck to you.

Tim, I've been following your treatment too as you ,me and Angie are all taking the same meds. I agree, hard to tell which med does what. Realizing that, I decided to just take it in the morning. Ultimately, I will have sx regardless. Sounds like you're on the right track w/ vl. I'm trying to drink about 3l of water a day. I noticed too that I felt better if I stayed active; however, hard to keep moving all day long. Thanks for the advice and I hope you hit that SVR on this draw.

Thanks all for your responses and support.

Hi JimBob and welcome!

I take my Solvaldi in the evening. I am on the same Rx as you though my Riba has been lower to 1000mg. I am in week 5 now. My only complaints are fatigue and insomnia. Of course the latter makes the former that much worse. Also I work a pretty labor intensive construction and we've been pushing 50-60 hour weeks so I'm sure that hasn't helped either. I have only experienced headaches a couple times and they were in the morning. I believe being dehydrated was largely to blame as I slow the water intake down at night so I don't have trips to bathroom all night.

Over all I am glad I am finally treating this thing and haven't regretted my decision to begin tx at all. My Viral Load went from 37.6 million to 138 in 2 weeks. I am waiting on the results of my week 4 VL test now. Should be any day now, but I'm hoping for undetected. So congratulations on a good beginning to your treatment. I advise plenty of water and not to expect things to get worse. They may, but I find if you plan on it, they definitely will. Good Luck and may you be undetectable soon!

Tim

I take my Sovaldi with 600mg of Riba at 7:15am and then my other 600 riba at 7:15pm. As I take them together in the morning one could argue it would be difficult to pin point which sx comes from which drug. However, the sx I have/get are the same in the morning as in the evening therefore I don't really think i get any SX from the Sovaldi - all mine appear to be classic Riba sx.

Hello. I'm almost 2 weeks in on the same meds and dosages as you are on. My first Shot did not give me symptoms until the next night. I had the flu like symptoms and a major headache for 3 days. I have chronic migraines so I expected as much. However, since then I have only had mild headaches controlled with tylenol. My second shot didn't bother me near as much as the first. I do shot three tomorrow night. I would just advise you to drink lots of water and eat regularly. I take sovaldi in the morning and it seems to not bother me too much. I feel more run down by night than I do after taking the morning pills.

Hi Jim, yes that is the correct treatment protocol for genotype 1, Sovaldi + peg/riba for 12 weeks.  Except in cases where people are considered `interferon ineligible` who can do 24 weeks of Sovaldi + riba only.

Anyway, yes, this is a great opportunity for you to do treatment with a powerful drug combo, and congratulations for getting started!  Even though you`re having to do interferon shots the treatment duration is half what you`d have to do without Sovaldi, and that`s something to be very grateful for!

I`m glad your first shot went well so far, and let`s hope you have a smooth journey.  Best of luck!  smile

Tig, thanks for your response. I'm on the Inf because I'm 1a. Doc told me that was all that was approved for 1a due to insurance guidelines. Believe me, I'd prefer the other route, but I am VERY thankful to have the opportunity for this one. Was very fortunate to have insurance. I know many on here have struggled with that - it just isn't right. There should be a way for anyone to have access to medications that can heal them, without to jump through all the hoops.

Mark, appreciate the info. That is good news. I considered waiting until evening but I've waited sooo long to light this candle, I was just ready toget on with it.

Thank you for the encouragement. I wish you both (actually everyone!) great success with treatment.

Hi Jim, I'm also on Sovaldi and Olysio. I started on 2/14, I take both early morning, 5 am after I eat something. I had a headache the first 7-10 days but they are now gone or very slight.  Hope it works for you.

Hi Jim,

I'm glad to hear you finally got started. I remember being anxious to get started too. It's a natural reaction and perfectly normal! I wish you the best. Did your doctor explain why he/she felt it necessary to take Interferon too? I'm curious about that. You will likely experience the side effects, but it will take time for the drugs to get established in your system to start noticing the changes. My experiences brought me to the belief that the best time for the injection for most people was in the evening before bedtime. The headache, aches and pains, etc., were often avoided or minimized through sleep. You can adjust that injection time if it's something you want to do. Just discuss your thoughts with your doctor or nurse before making any changes.

Taking Inf (180mcg), Rib(1200 daily), Sovaldi(400 daily). Took my first shot last night. Amazingly, I felt pretty good this morning. Still waiting for other shoe to drop.I am prone to headaches, and have read Sovaldi sx is similar to Inf with headaches, etc. Was told that by nurse too. Just curious if others on Sovaldi take it at night to avoid headaches interfering with daily activities. I guess the point is moot now anyway as i have already pulled the trigger and taken it with my 600mgs of Rib after posting the question. I was so eager to get started because I've had to wait so long. I guess I will know in about 4 to 6 hours.

For those of you taking Sovaldi, do you find it better to take it in the mornings or evenings?
