Hi Mallani,

I actually got that info over the phone. I requested a copy of the labs, I'll post them when they arrive.

Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim,

Does your report say <43 Detected, positive or Target Detected? If possible, attach a copy of your result.

Some Labs still use VL tests whose LLOQ is 43 i.u./ml. It's important to know which VL Test version your Lab is using.

As Tig said, most Labs now use a Version 2 test, with a LLOQ of 15 i.u./ml, and a LLOD of about 8, however it's important to read the result carefully. Cheers.

Hi Angie,

It really has been a drastic reduction so I am pleased about that. I am feeling better about it all, thanks in no small part to well wishes and positive attitudes here. I think you touched on what my concern was though, to get undetectable as long as possible while on such a short treatment to be sure there is no relapse. It'll happen though. So many things have fallen together to make the timing of this tx right for me and I do have faith it will work the way it's suppose to! smile

Hi Tig,

I'm not sure how low my testing goes. I will ask next draw which is in 3 weeks. Though if the 8 ball says it will so, not sure its even necessary biggrin

I am feeling better now that a little time has past. I appreciate everyone's positive attitudes here, was a nice pick me up!

I can understand being disappointed about not being undetected yet but the good news is that it's going further down. I just got my 2 week labs drawn today but they won't test my viral load until week 4. It literally took out millions of those things in a short time so I believe that you are on your way to being cured. In another week, I bet there will be nothing left and the next 2 months will ensure that they won't return .

Hey Tim,

I know you're disappointed that you're not undetectable at this stage of treatment and that's understandable. I want you to know that the new RNA quantified viral load tests are so sensitive that they can detect down to 7 IU/ml in some instances. Your test was detectable @ <43 IU/ml. It wasn't very long ago that these tests weren't able to detect that low. Had you been tested using that test protocol, you would now be celebrating your undetectable test results! I want you to instead celebrate the fact that you've had a multi LOG decrease in your viral load, in a very short period, using the most sensitive testing on earth! The old test wasn't actually a true undetectable result, even though it was claimed to be. When you get your next test completed and it DOES come back undetectable, you'll know that you are. How low does your lab test to? Mine tests down to 07 IU/ml now and many do. Try to be positive about the success you've seen already and plan the celebration when your test proves you really are undetectable! It'll happen, the 8 Ball told me...smile

@Gracie

Hep is on it's way out! I am grateful for that. On positive note, your almost done with Invicek (sp?), right? That one I hear is a toughy, so hopefully easier sailing ahead for you!

I identify with your avatar!! I feel like most mornings either from lack of sleep or shaking off the ambien!

Hi Wayne, I know your right. In the beginning of tx I never thought it'd be so low so quick! Overall we are both doing great. Just a little disappointed, but letting it go. I've noticed my emotions have been a little up and down lately anyhow. I'm sure it's the interferon. You are so right, the anxiety about the NEXT test will be on going for a while I'm sure! Hopefully our UND is just around the corner though! Best of luck!

Tim

Yes... It's going to be a very long 48 weeks, but I am currently undetected and haven't been that way in decades so I have to keep that in mind. I can do it... Just now wish I had waited for a few months so I could have done it in 1/4 of the time. It's so promising for all of us these days. Hep is on the way out!

And my new avatar is me these days in the morning as I've had to take Benedryl at night for the RIBA itch....lol

Tim -   We are on different treatments, but I sure wouldn't start fretting just yet.  For me, week 4 came in @ 62. It's still an incredible reduction for both of us.  My doc is fully expecting me to be UND at the next check, two weeks from now.  Everyone wants to join the UND club in that 2-4 week window we've been seeing a lot of, but I'm not sure how realistic that is.  There is limited data out there about rapid virologic response using the newest DAA's and shorter tx times.  I'm not sure the older RVR formula is going to end up applying with these meds, anyway. I think we both have every reason to remain optimistic.  The drugs are clearly doing their job.

It's all a waiting game, anyway.  When we both go UND on our next VL, we'll get all nervous about the upcoming check after that. And, after that one....  well, you get my point. ;)

@JimBob, Thanks buddy. I am going to get my head turned around and focus on the end results. Your right that's the goal!

@Gracie, From what I understand it's 12 weeks. I was not told of any chance of it being longer, tho I guess they could stop the solvaldi @ 12 and continue the Inter/Riba. Oh I hope not. I do remember seeing your post and my heart goes out to you, an extra 24 weeks over a 22vl. I guess the EOT is what's important. Again so glad to hear your UND. Hopefully I'll be there soon!

How does the new treatment work? Do you do more than 12 weeks if your still detected at 4? Hardly seems like a lot of virus left though, 43 little buggers. Wonder if they took samples at different times of the day if it would fluctuate. Like you may have beaten it, but there are still pockets here and there. I was detected at 4 weeks too. 22vl. For me, that means 48 weeks. Was negative at 8 and those words were great to hear. You will be too. All the signs are there!

Im sorry to hear that Tim. It isnt unrealistic to be disappointed tho especially with such a dractic drop in the beginning. Like you said tho, you have weeks more of tx. Ultimately, the goal is to become UND and stay there. Just try to be positive and focus on the next read.

Good luck!

Hi All,

My week 4 test came in today @ <43 and I have to admit I'm.... disappointed? Is that being unrealistic? I went from 37 million to 138 in 2 weeks. I just assumed, as did my Dr, I would UND this week. Makes me wonder what happened? The lower RIba dose? Am working too much/hard/not getting enough rest? Or simply just not being patient enough. cry Oh well I guess it's not as if it went up and still plenty of time.

Tim
