Hi Dee,

Congratulations on your great news! It's great to see those results and know that your hard work is being rewarded! Thanks for the link again, you should check the thread we started on Payment Assistance Programs in the Knowledge section. It has grown to include several great organizations, like those mentioned. Good luck and keep up the good work!

Forgot to add that coincidentally today (same day I got this great news) I received a check in the mail from the Patient Access Network Foundation that covered all my copays for Sovaldi and ribavirin. I've posted about this elsewhere, but if anyone needs financial assistance with copays, check them out. They are committed to HCV patients and approval for assistance is a fast process.

Hi Dee    Yes that is great news and early in your treatment. I think most of us have a times had a hard time sleeping but with only 6 more weeks to go you should be fine. Try and nap if you can. Take care Terry

Thanks, everyone. I'm really enjoying all the undetectable announcements popping up.

My last viral load test was over 9 million. This was several years ago; my doc saw no reason to check viral load before treatment. According to her, all that mattered is to make sure I still had HCV at all (after all these years, if the genotype came back positive, I obviously was still infected and treatment would be appropriate). So to be at zero (well, I guess technically, below 24 iu) is pretty amazing.

This really is a wonder drug, Sovaldi. This kind of thing doesn't come along too often--an actual cure--and we are so lucky that we're able to take advantage of it. I have a friend who has had HIV since 1990 and while she's doing well now, there is still no cure for that virus.

Rooting for us all!

Nice Dee!

That undetectable does a LOT for your tx outlook. This will make the rest of your tx a little easyer.

Best for you.

I literally crossed my fingers before I clicked the link for my test results.

I can't believe how thrilled I am! I'm so happy for all of us who are responding to this treatment so well. It really is an amazing time.

My hemoglobin levels have held up well. A smaller drop from week 2.5 - 5 than from baseline to week 2.5:

Baseline 1/14:   14.3

2/18:    13.0

3/6:     12.9

I have other labs but everything else within normal limits.

As far as side effects, sometimes my heart races, occasional shortness of breath, some insomnia (somewhat ameliorated with sleep meds, but I'm only sleeping 5-6 hours nightly).

I'm 6 weeks, 3 days into my 12 weeks of treatment. I couldn't feel more grateful.
