Thank guys! Both times this has happened was right after I ate something (that I would normally eat), but before I had a chance to take my Riba. Both times I waited a bit until my stomach settled and then ate some crackers and juice then took it. Both days I felt better after a couple hours and have been able to eat as usual throughout the day. Remember, I went through 6 months of Riba before and never had this problem at all. The Sovaldi is new of course but I've been on that for over 2 months now and I take that in the late afternoon. I'm not sure what the heck is going on.....everybody and every treatment is different I guess but if this happens again I will be calling my doctor about it and looking more into the Zofran. Maybe I'm just so worried "sick" about all this pharmacy drama I've been dealing with?? Who knows!

Hi April,

I also had my share of nausea and vomiting while on treatment. I had far more nausea than vomiting, but who's counting! This is the medication my Hepa started me on while on treatment and it worked very well. If your doctor happens to agree it will work, ask for the generic, it's far cheaper!

ZOFRAN

Good luck,  Tig

Hi April, nausea is a common side effect of ribavirin, and the dosing information for Sovaldi also lists it as a possible side effect, so it`s quite likely the meds that are causing you to feel sick.  Quite often it wears off after a while so give it time, but if it continues to be a problem I should mention it to your doctor or nurse.

As Wayne mentioned, it`s important to take your meds with food.  Are you managing to hold down your meals?  Hope the nausea eases off for you soon, I remember how it feels!

I recall some stomach issues the first couple of weeks, but it's smoothed out since. Have taken all meds with food from the beginning. From what we're seeing, looks like it affects everyone a little differently. Has your overall diet changed at all?

Does anyone get nauseous on sovaldi or ribaviran? The last 2 mornings i've been getting sick. I felt fine by yesterday afternoon but its back this morning again. Not sure if it is related to the meds or if im getting the flu or what. And no im not pregnant! Just wondering if anyone has experienced this?
