Globetrotter,

Sorry to hear youn are having a rough day.

I remember those days like they were yesterday.  The best comment I heard when I was struggling through a tough day came from my brother-in-law.  He would say "It's time to batten down the hatches and do your war planning."  Stay stong my friend as this too will pass.

Rockon!

Hi Globetrotter,

I'm sorry you are having a rubbish day, from what I've read it is really a tough therapy to get through. I can't imagine all those pills, fat, extra side effects. It is off course easier on double therapy as we don't have the added weight of the extra meds. I guess the younger a person is as well the easier it is to cope physically. Saying that, I watched a movie today and started crying for no reason at it. I think it must be the riba. I don't feel depressed but I felt over emotional, silly woman I am, but feel fine again now. I hope you have a much better day tomorrow. The benefit of time is this will all soon be a memory and over, we know it wont last forever! Hugs x

Good on you girl, you have so much to look forward to, go steady on yourself and and you will sail through the next round! My 'happy' spell is now in a drought and currently questioning wether I can do this for another 6 months as this shot has knocked me for six...

Lisa

My friend did the Interferon and Riba and apart from his Riba rage he managed extremely well, I think having the Incivek first knocks so much stuffing out of you its hard place to crawl out of .... on a debbie downer today!!

.sorry to hijack your post girls!!

Gracie,

I'm glad that you're beginning to feel better. Even though you "only" did 12 weeks, don't expect your return to normal to be overnight. You'll notice slight improvements over a period of time and eventually you'll realize that you're probably there. Even after 4 months, I notice the nagging effects of the drugs. I'm anxious to see what my 6 month test results will be. That will be the pathologic tale of the tape, but the psychological measure will take some additional time. But you will notice quick improvements in taste, bathroom habits and some daily activities. I recommend you let your body show you the way. Don't push yourself simply because you're ready to put this behind you. To finish this book, study what you've read and learned thus far and ready yourself for the final chapter, it's a real (dragon) killer!!!

I hope you get your physical strength back soon, I am glad you are feeling a little better, but give yourself time to recover and let it all out, it is bloody tough what you've been through nd you've been brave and gave a big fight! I am excited there are other therapies in the pipeline, it means we all have hope for a better future eventually and will save a lot of people the misery of 48 weeks of hell!

Lots of respect for you, and make some fantastic plans, you deserve a wonderful summer! :D

I am feeling better thanks. No more crying spells at least.

It occurred to me that my dr could have kept me on until 24 weeks as my VL was only 100, so maybe he is right about not making me suffer, and waiting to do the shorter one being the best thing for me. Just wish he would have perhaps given me the choice before the 12 incevik weeks, but then I wouldn't have made the great friends on here. Things happen for a reason...

Still a tad itchy, get tired still, but.... Food tastes good again, I'm enjoying coffee and making lots of summer plans.

I expect I'll wait for the one pill a day protocol and do it next year if its available. Only want to do one more kick at this can and send it out into the stratosphere for good!

I will be watching your progress and sending good vibes!

Heres a little funny for you Lisa.

Well Sat. morning I was doing the shopping list. I had to pass gas. Now I know how dangerous that can be on tx. Well it was a wolf dressed in sheeps clothing. I ran to the bathroom hoping it didn't make it past my cheeks. Sat on the toilet and peek into my britches. Opps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Washed them out and hit the shower. When my Mom got up I pointed to my pj's hanging in the bathroom. (like hers all the time) She did the little kids happy dance. Her feet were going up down while her body bounced and she clapped her hands pointing and giggles. That was worth it.

I remember treating with RIBA and inteferon and while my blood did go down some, it was no where near as low as with the incevik. The addition of the incevik makes it worse. Since your not taking incevik, you could be fine all the way through. Sure hope that's the case Lisa ... Keep up the good work! Your doing awesome!

Way to go Lisa!

Sounds like your off to a good start. The night of my first shot this time around I raided the frig. The next day I dropped Mom of at the hairdresser/baby sitter, went back home washed and waxed the floors. I didn't feel bad until my hb tanked :( :(  after I started the incivek. Hope you sail right through this. :) Best wishes for your first VL test.

Hi Lisa, it`s great to hear that you`ve got off to such a good start to your treatment, and have more energy!  It does affect some people that way, especially at first, and not everyone suffers badly from side effects.  It`s better to have your blood pressure on the low side of normal than having high blood pressure, but it`s the effect of the drugs on your red or white blood cells that causes most of the sx, for example many people experience some symptoms of anaemia caused by a drop in Hb levels, caused by the Ribavirin.  Let`s hope your journey continues to go smoothly!

I can understand you feeling excited about getting your appointment to check your viral load but just be patient, the time will soon go by!!

Enjoy your week too, and don`t overdo it! smile

I know this sounds silly, but I was so excited today I got through my appointment through on the 24th April for the Doctor check and first viral load check, but I am... :D

I have had such an easy week it is like I'm not on treatment apart from some dry eyes that I have drops for. Since I have had low blood pressure on an off for years, I doubt I would really notice some side-effects, and I always had aches and pains probably from Hep. So actually I feel normal. Well actually I have more energy at the moment, I hope it lasts :D

Have a lovely week fellow Hep warriors! :D
