Congrats, Dave! Quite a shock isn't it, seeing this bug annihilated in such short order? A blessing it is. Keep it rolling, my friend.

Hi Dave,

Ya buddy!!! Congrats on the great news! These new meds are the bomb man and your early response is a sign of even better things to come. All of you on these new DAA's have been given such a fantastic opportunity to reach SVR, it's truly a blessing and I'm also hoping that they become widely available to anyone needing them. Keep us in the loop and good luck going forward!

Hey All,

I couldn't wait for the doctor's office to mail my results (she wouldn't tell me over the phone) so I drove across town this afternoon and picked em up.  Got the news I was hoping for, ALT and AST levels in the normal range for 1st time in 12 years and HCV = Not Detected (<15  IU/mL   and   <1.18 Log IU/mL).   Can't quite believe I'm seeing all these normal readings.   Now just need to get through 7 more weeks of Riba rash!  (or more, I know... I learned here that the side effects don't just stop as soon as treatment stops.)

I've been extremely fortunate with my genotype and fairly painless insurance situation, I truly hope a way can be found to get everyone access to the new treatments and finish off this accursed virus.  Maybe it'll take an act of Congress in this country, very interesting times.

with gratitude,

Dave
