Hi Missy,

That's great news you're undetected! I hear you on those side pains. I have those also and it's really annoying. Anyhow, Tig and others on this forum are a wealth of knowledge! Many here have helped me greatly. Don't be shy about posting questions.

Congrats on treatment! You will do great!

-Rob

Hi Missy,

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on starting treatment and a big WOOT for your undetectable test results, that's fantastic!! You will continue your treatment for another 6 weeks, right? After you finish treatment they will test you again and then they typically wait until 12 weeks afterwards to do a final viral load test. If you are still undetectable, they consider that as SVR 12 (sustained viral resistance at week 12). They are considering that as an indication that you have been cured. Reports and data indicate that the likelihood of relapse after that point is less than 1%. The fact that you have already achieved an undetectable test result says one, you are responding well to treatment and two, your chances of success are excellent! You have good reason to be happy!

You must continue to take all of your meds, as this requires exposing the virus to the drugs for an established amount of time. That is an absolute must! Continue to treat yourself right, eat well and hydrate. Try to keep active and you'll  get through this successfully with a minimum of side effects. The time to treat has never been better! If you would like to introduce yourself and give us a brief history, like your genotype, etc., feel free to do so in our New Members section. It helps us when replying to your questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Good luck!

Tig

I am new to these forums, but wanted to share with someone that I have been on the Ribavarin/Simprevir/interferon treatment for 6 weeks and was just informed by my doctor's office that my blood is clear of infection, half way through treatment and it's already done it's job. It feels great to feel like I have my life back. No more waking up with SORE joints, no more pain in my side. I am thoroughly one happy camper today. What does it mean though to have it out of your blood? I mean can I get it back? Am I done with this Hep stuff for good? I don't know a whole lot about all this.
