Guys,

Don't be too keen to drop Riba. Sovaldi is useless by itself. Normal dose for an average male is 1,200mg in 2 divided doses. I know treatment sucks but why take a chance. Just my 2cents.

another agreeing with Tig - I am on only 400mg of riba a day - seems like yours could be reduced.  Why are you on only 16 weeks, I thought std treatment for Gen 3 was 24 weeks? - what I am on.

My doc didn't put me on Ribavarin because he could tell I was already a stressed out mamma! It's probably the Ribavarin. Hang in there. I agree with Tig that you should ask to take less or no ribavarin -- that it's making you irritable and unable to cope well. Lots of light to you. And me. And all of us.

Hey, RC..  16th week here and I feel your pain. The fourth month has been more difficult for whatever reason, at least mentally. The brain still works, though it has a nasty habit of disengaging itself wherever and whenever it pleases, kind of like a slipping transmission. Also too easily annoyed by people and noise and avoid both to the best of my ability. Spend a lot of time plugged into music, stay as busy as I can and try not to screw too many things up (mixed results on that one). Have found myself making uncharacteristic mistakes doing the simplest things. Duhh....

Good thing is we know it's the drugs and we know it's going to get better. It will be but a memory in fairly short order for all of us. You're almost there, my friend. Just keep taking those pills and I'll see you on the other side. ;)

Hi Robert.
Believe me, I can identity with many of your symtoms, especially the restlessness I am on my 10th week. I've tried to avoid home projects as I too have little patience. Somehow I have avoided the Riba rage (knock on wood). Only 3 more weeks to go Robert, you can make. As everyone has stated, avoiding certain situations help.
Good luck.

Hi,., we are the same age, have the same genotype and on the same meds except for the sleep aid you take and the Hyoscyamine I take.

I feel like that off and on , I have no problem sleeping in fact that is all i won't to do is sleep.  the talking too loud thing has been going on as long as i can remember.

I think I have had this since i was 12 so it might be from the virus.  I am taking my Tx for 24 weeks, I don't understand why yours is only 16 but to your question, I have all those side effect and most of them i had before I was on treatment so i think the virus is the cause and as you get rid of it this should go away,  lets keep our fingers crossed.

Hi Robert,

Have you discussed this latest trouble with your doctor? In the last couple of weeks for example? If not, it might be worth the price of a call. Are you still on the full dose of 1200 mg? You might be a candidate to reduce it some. It might help but with only 3 weeks to go, it might take that long for you to notice a dose reduction difference. Like the others have mentioned, this is definitely Riba related. I also noticed the problem of getting my words and sentences mixed up. We all experienced the irritability and rage. Avoid the situations as best as possible and if you're still working, and can take the rest of your treatment off, I'd recommend it. Hang in there bud, you're almost home...

Yes, just about everybody who has been on riba has experienced some or all of what you are describing, and it does pass.   Try to avoid stressful situations (and stress inducing people) to the extent you can.  Keep your surroundings calm and Zen like.  Only 3 weeks left.

Btw, I've never heard about the changes in facial expression and wild eyes (kind of an Incredible Hulk thing going on, huh?) but I suppose that is pretty common too when people become very agitated.

You aren't turning green, right? biggrin  It's not easy being green.

Hi Robert,

Just Ribavirin doing its stuff. Just realize this and try to cope. After 13 weeks of 1,200mg of the stuff, it's not unusual. It'll soon be over and you'll be back to normal when the Riba leaves your system. Cheers.
