Same treatment here 48 weeks.  I too experienced most of the most common side effects I am 5.5 months out and am now just getting close to 100%.  Seems everyone recovers differently, but most take time.  Good luck and congrats on completing treatment.

Amazing job doing 48 weeks of tx, Scruffy! I bet you are so happy that it's over. I know that had to be rough.

Hi Angie

Congratz of finishing tx. Those sx's sound like riba to me. I've been off for about 6 days and I get the same sx's. When I get tired I can feel the ribaviran thats still in me as if I just took it.. My tx was 48 weeks, 12 with incivek so I feel a whole lot better now even after only a week off the meds. I can still feel the meds its gonna take a while hang in there the hard part is over!!!biggrin

Thanks Tig. It makes me feel better to hear that what I'm experiencing is common. I did not go through many of these things during or after my last round of tx. I guess that adding the 3rd drug changes the game considering it makes it all the more potent.

Hi Angie,

I believe you're simply feeling the effects of the post treatment cleansing. I felt all of the symptoms you're describing and I recall reading replies from others telling me the same. It takes a few months for all of that to finally stop and then that's not even a sure thing. It can easily take a full six months to clear the Ribavirn and I'm still being cautious when I'm out in the sun. After 3 months I went out too long and my scalp and abdomen ended up burning and the riba rash returned around my belly button for over a week. I still have one of those little battery powered fans sitting on the table next to my easy chair. I had quite a few episodes of overheating, and the dizziness has finally stopped, but I'll continue to be careful for some time to come. The treatment and the side effects we suffered through became a way of life for most of us. It's going to be just as important to expect some changes as we all return to "normal". Hang in there, and just remind yourself to be patient. Your time will come! Good luck...

Tig

Sandy,

I have had high BP the last 6 months off & on. I think my anxiety/stress levels do not help. I guess I should probably get on some type of med for it soon...was hoping it'd sort itself out because it's fluctuated in the past.

angie,

i was on the inciveck, ribo & pegasys for 6 months & experienced everything you're referring to.

turns out my vertigo was due to a combo of low cbc's & hgb & blood pressure.

evidently high bp causes all this, even the sweating & headaches.

foolishly i lived like that for 3 months before going to my primary dr.

now i'm on 7.5 mg meds instead of 5mg meds for blood pressure.

i hope my solution can assist you. also take care in the sun!!!!!

sandy,ucbgal

I did have a lot of these symptoms during tx..usually on the days following the shot.I guess I didn't expect them to follow me after tx with the same vigor that they have been.
You are almost done Jimbob. I'm rooting for you! I know you have had a rough time.

Angie, not sure there is a lot of post tx info on the combo you and I are on, for a 12 week period. I have some of those issues here in the late stages of tx. Like the feeling of heart beating rapidly, and vertigo and especially anxiety. It is my belief you are still experiencing the effects of the meds. I've read the meds will take several months to dissipate. Maybe another member on here with more experience will chime in shortly. I am so happy for you completing your tx. I'm counting the days.

By the way, these last 3 weeks for me have been ruled by emotion.

Since being off of the meds for a few days, I have been feeling a bit odd as far as my heart rate jumping around and times of vertigo & getting over heated & irritated. Could this be detox effects? It comes and goes. I have chronic migraines & it in itself causes plenty of neurological symptoms aside from pain & I have anxiety issues so I have a hard time figuring out what symptom is from what sometimes. I just want to see if anyone had similar experiences when coming off the meds or if it's just me and my whacky system.
