you have a few good indicators that you will respond well,  1 is the low VL  2 is your female , males show more relapse than do females.  3 you have normal AST/ALT ,,

This has worked thus far for me even though I have all the indicators you have but on the bad side.  You will get by this without any trouble, It is nice to know what to expect/

Thank you for your responses.  Since I have low viral load (400,000) I can only hope the SX aren't too bad.  Gonna take it day by day.  Looking forward to hearing how your treatment progresses...Best of Luck!  Here is to UND

Hi I am a geno 3a like you and am more than half way through it,  With geno type 3 you will have some problems with your sugar.  This is not the Med's but the Hep itself.  you won't feel mutch until about 2 weeks of taking it, thin it hits you, you will feel tired, short of breath and dizzy.  Take it EZ because this is the worst of it.  During the time you go from millions to less than43 or "Und" you feel more side effects because you are killing more virus, when you run out of virus things start to get better.

I strongly suggest you look into taking some time off around that time or sighing up for FMLA like I did, They have a Intermittent status ware you work but can take off a day here and there if you have to, you will have days when you feel angry but don't know why, that is the meds and it goes away vary quickly.

After about ten weeks all this strange feelings start to go away and you feel better.  at least I did.  Good luck.

Annabanana,

I'm doing the 12 week sovaldi and ribavirin tx. I do have some side effects but im glad I'm doing it. I had some bad moments and missed a two days of work when the fatigue was so bad I couldn't find the energy to get dressed. But, overall, the effects have been tolerable. I have 13 more days to go. I'm beginning my count down. Just be sure not to miss any doses and tell ur doctor about any side effects. I haven't had a rash which is common but I was told that if I get one to start using mild soaps, unscented lotions and no perfume. also use cold water to shower. I started doing it from day one so that may be why I avoided the rash. Had mild nausea for a few days but all in all nothing I couldn't handle physically. Emotional side effects hit at about week six. I haven't felt suicidal but I've cried and gotten angry. Someone on the forum told me to try to remember who I was prior to tx and that has helped. Being a member of this forum has also helped. Here is a safe place to vent and gather support. I'm glad you're doing the tx. It's much better than the interferon based tx. I've had friends who were wrecks taken that drug. All the old timers have paved the way for new tx with less side effects and shorter tx periods. Hope it works for you. I will find out in Dec. if I'm SVR. I keep praying and taking my meds. Hope to be cured. I am UND now and hope to remain that way. All my best to you and your family as your journey continues.

gigi

Well, after much back and forth and conversations with hubby, Dr. and nurses, I have decided to move forward with Solvaid/Riba treatment.  24 weeks and I am scared as h***.  I didn't think this disease had affected me very much except for the silent havoc it wreaked on my body, but after copious reading for the last couple of weeks I realize many of my "issues" the last few years are probably related to HepC...fatigue, achiness, brain fog, vision issues.  So now it's time to get rid of it before I have major liver damage...hoping the SX aren't to debilitating.  Luckily we own our business, so I have flexibility in my work schedule and can take it easy when needed.  I am just nervous it will negatively affect my 10 year old son....I will take it day by day and hope for the best.  Wish me luck!
