I am almost done with the sovaldi ribavirin combo, 11 more days after today. The worst has been fatigue which has been intermittent. most days I have energy but some days not so much. I have missed 2 days of work due to tx so you should be able to continue working full time. I have been working full time and going to school half time and have been able to keep it together at both. Glad schools over with for the semester. what has been the hardest is the emotional roller coaster. Take care of ur self but don't worry too much about work, u should be able to work while on the tx. Check with ur doctor if u have concerns.goid luck on ur journey. These new treatments are a breeze compared to interferon based tx. I had many friends who ended up on disability during interferon tx.

Blessings,

gigi

Hello,

I began the sovaldi & ribavirin combo on May 4. I am geno 4c. My VL went from 600,000 to 43 in 16 days. The side effects are minimal. I did the interferon/riba regimine and that was HELLLLLL. The new treatment is a Godsend. The only issue I deal with is insomnia. However, my dr said that I should take my second dose of riba earlier in the day instead of 8pm. I now do that and sleep more and better. Every now and then I get reallllly tired, but I keep moving and it goes away really soon. I really have no other issues and these are issues that I can live with. I feel alive and more energetic and I'm not always trying to hurry up and finish things so I can go to sleep. Lastly, the brain fog has lifted....HALELUJIA...I can think again....I pray all the best for you....Remember to drink lots and lots of H2O.

Hello,

I met with my Gastro yesterday for my blood work and he mentioned that they recently approved the interferon free Hep C treatment.  I'm scheduled to start the 12 week treatment this fall.  I'm thinking about taking sick leave from work so I can focus on the treatment and to deal with any side effects.

Is there anybody on the new Interferon free treatment that can comment on the side effects of the new pill combos?  Any information would be helpful.  Thank you.

Lon I believe the treatment you are referring to is sovaldi based treatment possibly with ribavirin and maybe olysio. That is the combo I am on and the side effects are quite mild and in fact the improvement in my overall feeling of well being and energy for outweighs any minor side effects.

I was undetected (UND) after 4 weeks of treatment down from a viral load of over 2 million. I was the first patient my clinic had dealt with on this combo and they are amazed at how well it is working.
