Geno 1b, IL28B CT,  x3 prior relapser,  ex-cirrhotic, 75 yo, did 48 weeks with Victrelis/Peg./Riba.  VL 1.28m at start, UNDET. at 8 ,12 ,16 ,24 ,30  and 48 weeks.  EOT 15 Feb 2013 , UNDET. at EOT + 28 weeks. SVR!  Still Undet. at EOT +5 years

 Exactly this. I wouldn't jack with anything. A 400mg blast once a day may be stronger than 200mg twice a day and that's why they may do it that way.

 This is the answer I was looking for , Thanks Tiig,, I am not going to mess with anything, I was just wondering why they don't make a 800 m/g pill and break in half like they do sometimes to make it cheaper?  

If I have this right, I am certainly no Doctor, but my thoughts lead me to be leave it is a cycle.  The Sovaldi is taken and for about 12 hours it is in your system, killing the virus quickly but also making many mutants , These are killed by the ribavirin but slower than the Sovaldi makes them.  So the Sovaldi is off on off on giving time for the riba to chatch up. So you must only take the Sovaldi once every 24 hours and the riba every 12, causing this cycle.

Hello Huey, I`m just wondering why you would want to do that anyway?

The prescribed dose is "one 400 mg tablet taken once daily with or without food"...just be thankful that`s all you need to take and don`t mess with it!

Agreed. They have tested in different doses and timings and have picked the most successful treatment protocol.  Follow all instructions for sure.

You take a ribavirin 2x a day, and once, am or pm a Sovoldi .  What would happen if you broke the  Sovoldi in half and took it 2x like the ribavirin? With the rivavirin.  Does anyone know what kind of affect this will have?  just wondering I haven't tyred it. evileye
