Thanks Angie. It's good to know what to expect. I am hoping it all clears up for you soon.

Don't quit! You are almost there!! I had a changing & worsening of side effects during my last week of tx too. It will carry over for a bit after you finished as well. I am 11 days post tx and my riba rash is flaring up after having been mostly gone. I had a very rough past week & I am pretty sure it was the lingering of the worse effects I was feeling near the end. I actually feel good today....it pretty much feels like a miracle happened when you feel close to normal lol.
You can do this.

You, gigi and I are approching the door Robert-looks like you will be knocking frist....

Best wishes.

Hang in there, tomoprrow morning at 5 am is my last dose,  the last 3 weeks have been riba  Rage  H*ll.  It seems the end of treatment the riba really rages.  Get it done and over with, Its worth it, 30 + years of carrying this bug with us, and 4 pills away fron the end.  RC

Gigi--
You and I both are on the 12th wk. I'm having a similar experience, but we can do this gigi. I have 3 days left and it appears you have about 7. We are so close. That alone will keep me going. For whatever reason I kinda hit the wall in my 12 week. Sounds you you did too. I love seeing 7 fewer pills each morning - I have just 21 left.

It is important to always call your PCP first, he or she will help you through this.

I'll be waiting for you at the finish line with (what else?) a cup of water gigi.

We're there!

I spoke with nurse and got prescription for zofran for the nausea. it hasn't gone away but is now tolerable. I am going to cut out workouts for a few days and just rest after work. If the fatigue and insomnia don't settle down, I'm going to cut back and work for a couple of weeks and just work 36 hours instead of 40. Hopefully that will give me enough rest. The headaches are intermittant so Advil will work for that. Just hate being so tired. So exercise routine will be just tai chi and yoga for next week or two. I dont want to quit but feel miserable. I know those who had to use interferon had it much worse than I but I just feel so miserable. Thanks got your support.

GiGi,

I have experienced extreme ups and downs with the tx this time. My sides have fluctuated and I can go from feeling perfectly normal to wanting to crawl in a hole. It has been the weirdest ride. I have had headaches...at first they were at night, then they started in the day, then none, now they are back during the day. Always tired, never a moment where I feel rested. I was waking up at 4 am, then 5am , then 5:33 am on the dot every day and it didn't matter how late I stayed up, but now that is sporadic. There are days where I feel like I have literally had the crap beat out of me I am so sore all over, I feel feverish a lot, but with no fever. I have been depressed, angry and happy. Oh, and I have constant heartburn. I can't remember if anything else has come and gone.

Also, at the beginning of my treatment I was not feeling well at all and wasn't sure if it was sx or not and it turned out that I was sick and needed to be seen by a doctor. Also, mid point somewhere in there I had some serious sinus issues, but that resolved itself on its own somehow!  Just be careful because it is very easy to brush some things off as sides. If you are at all concerned I would talk to your doctor.  I hope to see your SVR status soon!

Gigi, I don't know what your interests are, but when I was having a hard time on treatment one thing that did help me sometimes was to find something to take my mind off the misery. A computer/video game, a good movie, good book, a drive somewhere, whatever it is that can distract you from how you're feeling. With only one week left, you could binge watch something on Netflix (I watched Sopranos start to finish more than once) and it'll be over before you know it. Hang in there! Whatever you do don't quit because you're almost to the finish line.

I had pretty severe stomach cramps my last few weeks on my Merck trial.  I just hung in and they got better a few weeks after the end of my trial.  My goal was SVR and if I had some discomfort--well, a lot ,  So be it. I also had ribavirin on my trial  At least it was not 48 weeks of interferon like those who went before me.  I was still UND at 12 weeks post treatment.  Go for my 28 week post treatment July 1st.

I did call my trial coordinator and was sent for a scan--just in case it was gallstones.  Nope, that wasn't it.  I just think the meds were hard on my stomach.  No antacids allowed with my trial.

If it is only a week more and you have checked with your doctor to be sure it is not something real serious, then try to hang in there.

Sorry you are feeling bad.

Hi Gigi,

Please don't stop with one week left! You would kick yourself squarely in the butt if you do and relapse. I haven't any experience with Sovaldi, but have two rounds of Interferon, Ribavirn and one with Victrelis and understand the impact these side effects can have on you, physically and mentally. As Isis recommended, contact your doctor and ask for some help. With one week to go, I'd gladly accept something that made me sleep for a week, just to finish the regimen! Silliness aside, I'm sorry you're feeling all of this, especially on your last week of tx. Hang in there and keep your mind on the prize, SVR.

Don't quit, beingsassy.  Call your doctor and explain what is happening.  He or she may be able to offer you some relief from the side effects.  Additionally, your doctor should know what is going on for your own well being.  It will also give you peace of mind so you can make it through the final week.   Best wishes.

Well I have one week left and I notice the fatigue, nausea and insomnia are getting worse pretty much daily. I take sovaldi and ribavirin. I eat mainly heathy but with some processed foods. I drinks lots of water and get daily exercise. But the past week I've been having a worsening of side effects. I had them in the beginning but they got better now they are at their worst yet. Also started having head aches. has anyone had the same thing happen or any ideas to ease them? I am barely functioning at this point. I keep trying to hang in there and figure there is an accumlative effect with the meds. But I am tempted to just quit so I can function but don't really want to.
