Yes, I too noticed that my skin, which had been dull and looked ashen, began to glow. I love it. I'm at day 46 of Sovaldi and Ribavirin. It is so amazing to be able to function properly while on treatment. The old days with interferon and ribavirin were HELLLL. I'm able to take care of my business and am looking for a job. I am so grateful to God and to the researchers who have made these discoveries. have a great evening all!

Tgcd78, I'm in my second month of olysio and sovaldi....I had headaches the first few days so I upped the water and avoided bright days and lights.....I wear sunglasses inside if it's bright and the headaches have been gone,  I feel great, my energy is high, my strength is coming back and im clear and thinking faster than I have in decades.  I do have side pain but the docs think it's not related to the meds....they think it's gall bladder.   They don't want to do surgery...so I'm watch g my diet and taking pain killers when necessary.

so overall, the meds are miraculas and I'm amazed at how great I feel.  I told the docs yesterday, I could live my life on these meds....they don't bother me at all....and my life is improving daily.  I still have 7 weeks to go....so well see....but for right now and with the exception of the first week....I've nothing but good.....

i just had my VL pulled....so I'll know next week what it is,,,,I was told to not be disappointed if it's not UD....but I think it will be,,,,,....lol

hey...does anyone else on this combo notice their skin is improving?  My wrinkles are almost gone,,,,my skin is lovely and any liver spots I had are gone.  I'm amazed.

Eot was yesterday.. feeling happy, nervous and physically fine. Should know my results in about 5 days. I do have the Q80k thing that's what's making me nervous. Never felt sick from this illness so I know I'm blessed on that note. I'll post my results soon. Prayers work... fork some over. :)

I had a few dull headaches thru treatment...I think it's de-hydration so drink lots of water, and sunlight can have an effect too so wear a hat and sunglasses and don't over do it outside if it's hot.

Hang in there it gets better!

I was feeling great the first week on sovaldi and olysio. I am UND as of week 1 but I continue to take the pills. I'm at week 3 and I am feeling cloudy in the head with a dull annoying headache. Whats that all about?

Holy smokes!!! At week 30 they would have found me in the bottom of the pool. Some ones hbg is good. biggrin It takes me twice the effort in a pool I'm a lousy swimmer. Finished May 17, 48 weeks 40 of which I was on procrit now I hurt more than when I was on treatment guess its from all that procrit messing with my marrow. It will pass.

Seems like there is still a number of ppl on the incivek tx. Good luck to you all and hang in there!!

Impressive!  I`m glad you`re finding the Citalopram is helping, I did too when I when I was on tx.

Go a bit easy now!!

@ Michelle...well done for finishing your 12 weeks of incivek and great that the sx have eased up now.

All the best for your 12 weeks PCR..you`ve responded well so far, fingers crossed for you!!

Should have stated on 48weeks tx Interferon, Ribavirin and Telaprivir (full dosage of all as my blood levels have not altered)

I have to agree with you Scruffy. I'm amazed that no matter what thread I open up on the forum now, there's a post somewhere near the top that mentions the author as being close to completion of treatment! I'm thrilled to see all of the positive attitudes and high rates of success so far. Let's keep it up people!! It's great to see these claims of success and something I'll never get used to seeing. Such great news indeed!

Taz, you know how important it is to hydrate. There's nothing more boring than plain old water. What really helped me was seeing a store display of that water flavor enhancer called "MIO". I decided to give it a try and am so glad I did. I think I tried a punch flavor and liked it. When I went back to the store, I noticed that the store had a generic store brand of the stuff and it comes in about 5 different flavors, my favorite being the sweet tea flavor. If you buy one of each, you're never without something different and that helps the water boredom problem right away. Whatever you can do to encourage proper hydration is good and will help reduce those nasty side effects.

Done with week 10 on Olysio/Sovaldi combo. Sun sensitivity is still an issue as is trouble sleeping. A few headaches if I don't hydrate but nothing that's hard to cope with. Labs were all normal at last visit. I'm still able to do my full workout everyday. Have cut back a little on riding my motorcycle on days I feel blown out from lack of sleep. That's a safety issue for me.Overall everything's peachy.Kurt

My treatment is sovaldi/olysio/riba and I started felling the positive effects a week into treatment and although there have been some Sx I still feel my worst day on treatment is better than my best day with hepc.

8 down 4 to go. No more night itching insomnia riba rage is more like being mildly irritated some times my rash comes and goes on my wrists and lower arms and my sun tolerance is reduced but that is likely olysio doing that, not on your Tx menu.

My husband finishes his treatment of Sovaldi/Olysio in 9 more days.  He initially started with Riba but Dr. removed it on week 3 saying it wasn't needed.  He's had hardly any symptoms and feels great.  Undetected since week 6...Very grateful...

Hi all.. I complete my treatment on June 13th, 12 weeks on Solvadi/Olysio. I feel better than I have in a long time. This treatment had been so easy to take, almost no side effects. Slight headaches a couple of times, body aches come and go,but no insomnia at all. Getting a little itchy but nothing like the past treatment ( peginter/riba). The sun has been a little bothersome to my eyes only. I've been UND since my first blood work at 5 weeks. Over all if I had to continue this treatment for another 12 weeks I'd do it happily if I come out with SVR in the end. biggrin

Hi Poet,

I'm also taking Sovaldi + Ribavirin. I'm on week 14 of 24 and been not detectable since week 3 1/2!

I confess I have had up and down days since starting. My main issue at the beginning was headaches. It would usually come at the end of the day. But they have gone away. My second month was really good and I felt a burst of energy that came from nowhere. Month four has been a bit more challenging as I feel more lethargic and lack energy. My last blood work showed a bit of anemia was setting in. That has kept me from working out. I tried this past weekend to do a bit of T25 (Shaun T exercise video) and I was on the floor gasping for air in just about 5 minutes in.

Seeing my doc this Friday for my monthly blood tests.

I've been eating lots of dark greens such as spinach,  kale, swiss chard. In the morning I drink a NutriBullet shake that I make with spinach, pear, ginger, pineapple, and kiwi all fresh. In the afternoon I put beets, carrots, chard, cucumber, watercress, lemon, pear in the juicer and take it. It actually tastes pretty good.

I found out that, to me at least, changing my diet has been a big helper in keeping me feeling well and energized.

Best of luck to you on your journey.

Hello Poet, good to hear you`re feeling much better after all the digestive problems you were going through last week!

Interesting that you mentioned how much better your skin feels already, that was something I noticed post tx that my skin felt softer and my complexion looked better than it had done for years!  Keep moving forward and best of luck!  smile

(I`m moving this thread to the `On Treatment` section where I`m sure you`ll hear back from others on the same treatment.)

Today is day 28 of the six month regimen with sovaldi and ribavirin. Today I am feeling fantastic. Last week was the week from HELL. I had so many digestive issues and I had no energy and constantly felt like I was going to faint. Many times I walk from 2nd st to 9th street and back, but last week I had to make several stops along the way to get myself together and regain my footing. I am so grateful that today I am back in action...I went to church and got some wisdom and direction...I'm feeling free and moving on in life. People are complimenting me, saying how well and young I look. I even noticed it in myself. My skin seems to have a nice glow and a caramel hue. When the disease is actively destroying the liver...it seems to dry the skin and it has an ashen appearance...Wow we are all so blessed to be among the number who are receiving treatment with such a high success rate. Have an amazing day everyone.
