Taz--

You'll find your lost card right after you receive your new one. At least that's how it works for me....

Hope you are feeling better today, TazKat.  You have passed the half way mark and are getting very close to the finish line now.  I love Sandy's suggestion about being in nature because that always seems to have a soothing effect on my soul as well.

When I was on tx I was living in a downtown loft and soaking up nature wasn't something I could easily do.  Since then I have moved to a house surrounded by trees, water, and lots of critters like deer, squirrels, and even cotton-tail rabbits.   As much as I like urban living nothing beats the serenity that nature can bring.  A swimming pool sounds heavenly; spending some time floating under the stars on a warm evening might be just the ticket for a hard day.

Hang in there, TazKat.  It won't be long now before tx is just a memory and you will have made it through.

Taz Kat

I know nothing about pools so I am of no help there. But I know when my husband was on Riba, he would have periodic meltdowns. He says that everything just go on his last nerve. And as family watching, I can only tell you that it stressed me out to. I suspect everyone in the household is doing the best they can given the circumstances. Tomorrow will be a new day and hopefully it will feel better. Lots of suggestions for how to pull yourself back. Sometimes I just need to sit outside and focus on anything other than myself. The birds nesting, squirrels chasing each other, just something that calms the soul. We will be saying prayers and sending good energy your way.

You right the riba is doing its thing. This is time for YOU not the pool and not the kids. Hard to do I know. Try to remember your self pre riba and try to put your head back there. Its not you its the med. I take care of my 83 yr old Mom and did all through treatment Taxing to say the least. SLOW DOWN and you'll will stop misplacing things. You have the rest of your life to take care of the pool and kids. This is time you should be taking care of you self so you can do things later post tx. Do what you have to do to get by.

best for you and a hug!

Hi Taz. Sorry you're have such a bad time. I guess I was fortunate as I live alone. So, I can't help you with the family issues, other than to say you are in good hands with the moderators here. They and others here always have good advice.

Jiil is right, this is your time and you do whatever you can to get thru this. Your needs are FIRST for the next 5 weeks Taz. Only 5 weeks to go!

I found that a good PCP will help you as they understand the hardships of tx. Mine gave me an AD and beta blocker and they did work wonders. Many of my problems diminished afterwards. They were still there, just not as important as before.

Good luck Taz. I will be sending well wishes your way.

Hi Taz, I hear you and I remember only too well what it`s like to feel out of control with riba rage, and I`m sure a lot of us here can relate to what you`re going through.  One time when I was on tx I got so annoyed with a builder who`d done some work for me and hadn`t finished the job that I ended up shouting at him, and once I`d started I couldn`t stop!  It was quite out of character for me and I`m not proud of reducing a grown man to tears!!  wink

I sympathise with you having your son and his wife at loggerheads, but really this is your time and you need to focus on being kind to yourself and letting them sort it out for themselves.  Do whatever it takes just to get through each day and find things that will make you feel relaxed and improve your mood.  I found watching old reruns of favourite comedies on TV helpful, laughter can usually take the edge off things when you`re feeling stressed out.

Best of luck, and don`t forget we`re hear for you anytime you need a good rant!

TazKat, I don't know anything about pools but I do know about frustration and frayed nerves. I don't know what your taste in music is but for me I can embrace the anger with a little hard angry rock like Tig suggested.

I will send my good thoughts and prayers your way. Hang in you're in the home stretch

Taz, sorry you're having a rough day.  On the pool, clean your filter good, shock as recommended in the evening (sun breaks down chlorine) and get some PhosFree.   A couple of hours after shocking put in a heavy dose of the PhosFree in the skimmer.  Run your pump for 12 hours then clean the filter.  If you're able, the second day brush the pool run pump 12 hours and clean filter again.  We used to have pool problems.  The PhosFree weekly dose really eliminates the algae.  If it's bad you may have to brush and clean filter a couple of times.  Make sure you use chlorine tabs as they have stabilizer. You may need to add baking soda.  Sam's sells a big bag cheap. Get your water tested.  Hope this helps.

Now for the important part......you've got to keep going. Too many people here waiting for you at the finish line.  Most of us here have an idea what you're going thru.  Go take a cool shower grab a bite of something you enjoy. Maybe watch a movie?  We pulling and praying for you.

I found that the shock powder/kits weren't worth crap after the balance got that bad. You'll need to get the liquid chlorine from the pool store, and really hit it hard. I suggest you take in a sample with you because its likely going to need some acid as well.

Sounds like you need a room to escape to and maybe a set of headphones as well. Having a family spat going on around you when your stress meter is pegging out, won't help you gain control of anything. So try and separate yourself from the fireworks and relax. Hang in there and just try to make it through today. Get some sleep and try again tomorrow. Have faith, you can do it!

Tig

Hey Taz,

Sorry to hear you're having a lousy time of it. You know what you have to do and have done it before, so get your mind where it needs to be and go there. Find some music, either relaxing stuff or if it were me, I'd find something and shake the walls for a while. Something you could play some mean air guitar and a drum solo or two! Take the anger and irritation out on your speakers, just don't blow your ear drums, lol! (You can always throw some mashed potato flakes around the house and you'll have something to clean up for 6 weeks, ask me, I know!)

Now tell me a little about your pool. I have taken care of the worst of the worst. Do you have a shock kit or some chlorine available? Tell me what's wrong and maybe we can get that taken care of too. Hang in there my friend, you're tough and will make it.
