Thanks everyone.  I knew I wasn't undetected (darn no) but thought it was confusing.  3 weeks in, 21 to go.

Okay, thanks Wayne, I went right over that "Ref" or reference point. That does seem to be a rather foolish inclusion on the report. So Anna, your report indicates a viral load of 441,000 IU/ml and a normal or negative result would return as "Undetected".

Tig,

on my results it always gives a reference range to compare to if I was normal, and I think that's what that's showing. Such as my last alt was 26 and compared it to the normal reference range of 10-60. So I don't think its showing as undetected

Hi guys..  The undetected showing on the report is the reference range for the test, meaning a healthy individual would show that result. The numerical value is the important one. They love messing with our minds on these reports.

Hi Anna,

I have to ask, are you sure this is your pre treatment test result? The fact that it states a result of 441,000, yet lists it as undetected in both locations. I'm not sure what this indicates, perhaps someone else will be able to enlighten us both on the meaning of this.

Hi I am hoping someone can help me with my VL that the Dr. ran  before I started treatment....here is what it says

Test                                       Result                    Flag                Unit                  RefValue

HCV RNA Detect/Quant, S       441000                   A                     IU/mL                   Undetected

The quantification of this assay is 15 to 100,000,00 IU/ml (1.18 log to 8.00 log IU/mL). Testing was performed

by the COBAS Ampliprep/COBAS TaqMan HCV tes, version 2.0

Roche Molecular System, Inc.

Test                 Flag Rewrite                      Unit              Reference value    Perform Site

HCV Genotype    S                     AB    3                                                      Undetected        SDL

Testing was done using the Abbott HCV Genotype II Assay

Just wondering why it says undetected?  Any comments appreciated.
