Hi Omna:  I've never been on the S/O combo.  There have been relapsers but there is no reason to believe that will happen to you.  Try not to worry!

Worry will only give you frown lines, which will only lead to contemplating the pros and cons of Botox,  which will only lead to more worry and more frown lines. lol   Worry is a neverending cycle.

Hold on, tx is almost over for you, and in all likelihood that will be the end of your hepc virus.

Thank you Isiscat2011;

I appreciate your feedback very much. Though for some reason, starting this regime and watching it work right away, gave me full confidence that I was through with the virus for good. After hearing your story, I'm not 100% any further and I think I'll probably only have true peace of mind after 12 weeks SVR. So finishing the meds is slightly anticlimactic as I have to wait to see if being off them isn't like taking me off life support.

You were UD until the day/week/when you stopped taking tx? My doc wants me to come in the last week of treatment and I think I'm going to change it to the week following the end of treatment...

I guess I'm concerned too b/c I have so much on my plate, been stressed out big time, and am taking meds to help me sleep and relax. It's also close to 100 degree weather here, financial strains,  and I'm a full time stay at home mom with a toddler so it's been challenging. I hear some people were on a clear clean perfect diet and lived a spa-like existence while on and after treatment: so I hope my stress and life concerns don't hamper the virus from a full departure. I mean sometimes I'm so stressed, I'm like, "Did I just take my meds?" And I did of course, but my  memory feels foggy

I'm truly sorry about your situation and I'm sorry to be so concerned with my own self about this from hearing your story. I didn't understand what you said at the onset of what you wrote about Genotype Ias are or are not normally SVR at 12 weeks on Olysio and Solvaldi?

It looks like there's so many more treatments coming available that I shouldn't be concerned for either of us. Just hope our insurance will cover them! :)

Lots of light and gratitude

OMJ

Hi Omna:

There haven't been many 1as who have reached the 12 week EOT point in the real world.  There have been small clinical trial results, but for now, it is just wait and see.  The problems with 1a tends to be that they may carry the Q80k polymorphism so Olysio will be less effective for them.  OTOH, there is reason to believe that taking Sovaldi with Olysio will cancel out the reduced SVR rates for 1as with the Q80K.

Additionally, anyone who has previously been treated with first gen PIs may carry the R155K RAV which makes them harder to treat.

Moreover, cirrhotics are harder to treat.

There are so many factors and ultimately we just don't know who will SVR and who won't.  Nothing to do now but hope for the best.  BTW, you do not fall into any of the above categories that would reduce your SVR odds because you do not carry the Q80K, you were treatment naive, and you are not cirrhotic. Hang in there; you are nearly finished.

SVR stands for sustained virological response which is what you reach when you are UND post tx for a certain period of time.  That period of time used to be 24 weeks but now someone who is UND at 12 weeks post tx is considered SVR.

I've heard some heartbreaking news on this site that some people relapse after the meds stop, and I was wondering if that's a minority or a rare case that an be worked through, or is that unusual?

I'm just wondering how many of those with Genotype Ia on only solvaldi/olysio have still remained UD after 12 weeks post TX after EOT?

Also, sorry, forgot...what does SVR stand for?

Thanks!
