That is a great analogy.  I am on the straight and narrow !!

Works for me. I'm staying on good behavior.

Hi Paul,

If your question is whether the liver starts to repair itself from the damages of HCV following SVR, then yes, it does. Malcolm has posted excellent information on the likelihood of fibrosis regression in the recent past and I'm sure you could ask him for some additional info or search it here on the forum.

I have not smoked for 30 years.  I consume zero processed food or energy drinks.  I reckon my diet would be difficult to fault.

Independent and dependant variables....Are you smoking? are you eating processed foods? energy Drinks? The liver can be damaged by a host of things not just the virus, it is just that these things do it slowly,The virus does it so fast it can't repair itself. I think though these other things can do enough damage to inhibit the healing so in my opinion avoid it. Aloe Vera Juice is my thing, taken with Fiber 6 oz with water . I talked to my nurse, ask her about this,Her only commit was" I am not a big fan of supplements"

In cases where the virus has been cleared during treatment, would it be reasonable to conclude that from that point the liver is no longer being damaged, and is in fact already undergoing regeneration ?
