head over to the News sect, look for a post I put up yesterday, Watch the video , I have never heard a Dr,. Describe the side effects better,  I don't agree with it 100% but it is still vary good.

I'm only 3 weeks + 2 days into Tx and I have a real good appetite and eat small amounts all day and all night, but I generally eat much healthier, non-fat etc foods as compared to pre-Tx eating habits. I weighed 152.1 lbs before Tx and I weighed 153.2 lbs yesterday at my Dr appointment.

Yes, IMO my increased appetite/food intake should be reflected by more than 1.1 lb increase.

But I'm still real fresh in Tx, so we'll see what my 3rd month weight will be...

Happy eating Randy! smile

Hi Randy,

I ate more than I used to pre treatment, but I had to concentrate on eating the right things. I was on the Victrelis protocol and it required eating with each dose of medication. The quantity of each meal wasn't that large, so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. I found myself eating more fruit and yogurt than usual as well.I experienced some nausea and vomiting off and on throughout Tx, so i tried to eat properly when I had a good appetite and ate good snacks when that was all I could get down. I recommend you concentrate on selecting healthy items, as well as things that are easily prepared for the days that your energy and desire are limited. Eliminate the junk, and the sweets. Seek a balance and ask your doctor if they can provide you with some suggestions. They often have some input from dietitians. I also contacted the specialty pharmacist that provided my drugs and she was very helpful when asked for her suggestions. We have some very knowledgeable people here that were helpful, so don't hesitate to put out your "feelers". Take a look through our search section. There are dome good ideas there. If you're interested in juicing, there have been some great suggestions in that area as well.  Good luck and happy eating!!

Hi Randy,

The Riba in conjunction with the other meds reduced my activity level considerably and I assumed some weight gain would be iinevitable. As it turned out I ended treatment just slightly above my beginning bodyweight. Within a couple days of starting the drugs I noticed my resting pulse was jacked up 7-10 bpm, and that continued throughout tx. As tired as I was physically, the metabolism seemed to be working overtime. I think it helps explain why I didn't gain more weight than I did.

Hi Randy,

Weight loss is fairly common during treatment. I have to note that it's going to depend on several factors and your protocol is certainly on top of that list. I was on the Victrelis triple and lost 50+ lbs over a 6 month period of time. Your diet, activity level and lab results all play into it. My doctor followed it closely and was getting concerned toward the end of treatment, but it slowed down over the last two months. I had it to lose, so I'm happy to have it gone. Do your best to eat a healthy, balanced diet, get some exercise and discuss your concerns with your doctor. Good luck...
