Malcomb you are truly a wonderful man, you take your time and read all these things we posters put out there and give your educated and truthful position on what you see and think.

I can't  tell you how nice this is for so many people here that just don't have the access to another opinion, even if  its not to be taken as a Drs. Recommendation, but just that, an opinion, and the fact you are a physician and just can let folks now if they should ask more questions or accept what they have been told is realistic is so helpful.

Thank You...your contribution here is irreplaceable!

Hi Mike,

The MRI report from 1st October is pretty dreadful. The description is poor and incomplete, and there are no worthwhile conclusions.

It appears unlikely you have a HCC. The lesion in segment 5 may be an haemangioma, but no details are given about washout.

Your liver is nodular consistent with cirrhosis and there is some ascites.

I notice you asked about the enhancement near L2. This is non-specific, and could represent some inflammation from disc disease. It has nothing to do with HCC.

I have the option of changing the location where my MRI is done, and that new location is the one my doctors patients generally go to anyway. I remember you saying it is best to have imaging done at the same location each time so I'll ask my Dr. about this change when I see him Tuesday.

I do have disc disease along with other back issues, but I couldn't understand why a comment about that would be given in a MRI report that is looking for liver lesions / tumors. That's why I asked.

This was done Wed 10-1-14 and it says the comparison is in reference to a CT scan I had 1-17-14, which I don't the printout of, yet.

Also I included the MRI final report from 3 months ago 7-7-14, also compared to 1-17-14 abdominal ultrasound and CT abdomen.

I won't see my hepatologist until Tues. I don't understand much about it so what's the verdict?
