I know how you feel, I am over all that now but I was there, for 24 weeks, I say the side effects are pretty Narley, I use that term because it refers to a big wave, and that is what is feels like.

we are all in this together, keep your stick on the ice. 'Red Green Show'

I'm sure you're dealing with the effects of Riba as well and want you to know that we all have been where you are right now. None of us missed the thrill of the Riba ride, the Riba rage, the Riba rash, should I go on? You're not alone and I wish I could remove you from your personal hell right now but you have to ride it out for 6 more days and you know what, you can do it because you want to, because you have to. To stop now would be a total waste of all the days you've committed to so far. You've got this in the bag, you're undetectable and you're going to be fine, but it's going to take you to pick yourself up and commit yourself to finishing out one last week, less than one week!!! Okay? Come on, I want hear you roar!!! We have no quitters here, understand? Hang in there, the finish line is right in front of you..........fight to the finish!!!

6 days left...........I know it can be hard but remember the saying...just when we are about to give up is when our situation changes for the better, you have shown great courage and perseverance to get thru this, I'm sure it's the Riba because Sovaldi is just too nice a medicine to do that to anyone....since we are talking to our meds now..... I thought I'd join the conversation, so it would be nice if Riba would just settle down and go sit in the corner until your ready to behave properly, otherwise we're just gonna give all the love to Sovaldi and when this is over and we are SVR she's getting all the credit and Riba you'll just be a bad memory I kicked outta the house for making me miserable and crazy for the last several months. your bottles will be ground up and sprinkled in the compost pile while Sovaldi bottles go in the trophy case with a big picture of your SVR letter with Riba removed with a big smudge of white out!

There I hope you feel better!

Have a great day......and be the little engine that could....I think I can ..I think I can ...and it'll be over next Monday!

Duane

Ok, you'd think it would be simple to finish up 6 more days. But I swear I feel like I'm getting closer to the edge with every passing hour. Erratic mood swings (more low than high); more fatigue, itchy, sad, bored and considerable disinterest in life itself. Since the virus is being eradicated, why do I feel worse?

Pathetic, I know. I grumble louder every time I shake the 3 Ribavirin from the bottle ( I blame it for everything wrong in my life right now, the Sovaldi has a pass for some reason) and threaten to quit (after all, I am undetected already); but I guess I have some conviction left because I keep taking them.

I am so out of shape, so down on myself right now, so lackluster that I worry about pulling myself up after all this. As I have mentioned on other posts; unlike some/most of you I have persevered through the last 3 months with food as my comfort (and oh boy, does it show) and an attachment to my couch and Netflix. I was told there were no side effects to speak of when I started this regimen and even though you all have been very supportive; I still wonder if half my complaints are all in my head.

I was diagnosed in 1999/2000 after donating blood; I am/was a hemodialysis nurse with probable patient exposure (un-knowing). I never had elevated liver enzymes, liver BX showed no fibrosis, and yet at the start of treatment my HCV was > 400 million (My NP actually said "wow" out loud when she saw the result; nice huh?) I can say that even prior to treatment my energy levels were not outstanding; I suffered from mild depression along with a propensity to gain weight. Of course, being post-menopausal since 2009 I have had physicians blame all symptoms on Hormones. I tried very briefly HRT with no real improvement so stopped (why risk it?).

I tried to hop on the elliptical the other day and got winded after 5 minutes. Over the last 3 weeks I have developed a dry cough and any exertion (I mean, even walking up the driveway) makes me short of breath. And no, I have no cardiac HX and HgB has remained above 12 throughout.

My husband is pretty much my sole human contact these days. He's great but I do think he has switched "off" my whining and complaints. So, since no one else knows about treatment, you guys are lucky enough to experience my rants and ravings.

I WANNA STOP SO BAD!

Correction to previous post:

Genotype 2b; first treatment with Sovaldi/ribavirin started 7/23/14; VL <15 at 4 weeks; VL undetected at 9 weeks; 6 days of treatment left
