Thank you Mallani, I did discover that taking antacids...Pepto Bismol can elevate levels of AST. Over the past weekend I was sickened with some sort of stomach issue where I was vomiting and having extreme diarreah. By the time Tues rolled around and I had my bloods drawn, I had drank almost a half bottle of Pepto. So problem solved.

Hi Debra,

The Lab results are probably wrong.

Only 2 things cause a high AST with a near normal ALT- heart attack and alcohol ingestion. I guess you can rule those out. Cheers.

I am quite concerned. I had my eot labs done yesterday and while I remain undetected, my ALT is 46 and my AST 172. What does all of this mean? Any wisdom?

Your signature says VL UND @ SOT+8wks. What about labs between SOT +8weeks thru EOT? Has there been a gradual increase in ALT/AST or is this a sudden change?

My last labs SOT +12 wks was AST - 23 / ALT - 5. That's pretty low, maybe even too low, but by comparison yours are astronomical.

Hopefully someone with better knowledge can give you an answer.
