Brian,

What drug for Fribro are you talking about and why wouldn't the doctors take it? There are a lot of different meds that can be used, I know. I don't have digestive issues just severe pain and stiffness. I would be curious to know if it's the one I am on.

Are you taking the Xanax for Hep C symptoms or Fibro?

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts

Lacey

I have had  it for many years..  I am on very low does Xanax  (.025 x 2) and it works wonders. no side effects and it calms my digestive system greatly .I guess I need to find out if that is a problem  with my new malady , but I don't think so

I know one thing about Fibro, I don't know a single Dr who would take the med for  Fibromyalgia  ..   Not a single one . They all told me NO WAY

Now I went through Hep C treatment in 2011/12 successfully. Before treatment I was experiencing all over to the bone aches and tendon / muscle sore spots that I associated with the Hep C. The pain and stiffness escalated after treatment and just this week I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I was so overwhelmingly excited my body had beat the virus and now I find out I will face a lifetime of managing chronic pain.

I sure wish my doctor could have prepared or informed me of the possibility. It would have saved me two years of debilitating pain and cost of going to so many doctors.no

Finally, the Rheumatologist diagnosed Fibromyalgia and sent me back to my regular doctor.  Elavil, which he prescribed, has worked wonders in just 6 days. I still have the pain but it is reduced to where I can function pretty normally. Now to work on the stiffness. smile

I would like to know if anyone else has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and what has worked best for them. I am incorporating bike riding, walking, yoga and light weights in my exercise routine. The stiffness and pain makes it hard to get started. But, my doctor said I need to work through it as it will help in the long run with the pain.

Any advice and or experiences are greatly appreciated. I know there are studies that link the two but am interested in personal experiences.

Best wishes to all

Lacey
