So today's phone call from my healthcare provider said my pharmacy, Washington State RX Services (who told me 2 weeks ago it was on their list) said they are now evaluating the medicine and will have a determination by November 30th.  The doctor's office was going to try to get Harvoni directly from Gilead for me now can't because Washington RX said they were evaluating it not denying it. Guess I will try to not think about it anymore until after Thanksgiving.

I do not understand any of this. Kindda feel like Alice in Wonderland after she fell down the rabbit hole. Like Michaele said....just breathe.

I was expecting a bit of chaos following the Harvoni approval but this is getting ridiculous.

I may have to break my 3 week code of silence a bit early--I told my doc I would stay out of their way for 3 weeks while they work on it--but now I am wondering what track my request has taken.  I don't trust myself if I am placed on hold for 35 minutes and given the runaround for days on end.  Very bad words might come out of my mouth before my brain catches up.  biggrin

Don't worry, Mugsy.  You will be smug and happy again.  Hang in there all!

Hoop jumping contests. aww  Dizzy is the word. Going round in circles. confuse  Yes it is a maze.  If I could give any advice, please keep your composure when dealing with anyone that has anything to do with helping you get your meds.  It is so easy to become disappointed, frustrated, aggravated, and antagonistic with those involved in this process.  I know this from personal experience wink    At times I've really had to work to keep from losing my temper. I was on the phone for 40 minutes tonight 35 of which was on hold.  By remaining polite it may have helped me get my meds.   I should have some confirmation of this tomorrow.

Thanks Mugsy, I'll be praying for you Michaele

Here I was, so smug and happy all my ducks were in a row and the much sought after Harvoni would be delivered to my door any day now. So I called Walgreens specialty to see if they had any idea when it would get here. They said I was denied because my insurance(Regence) wasn't contracted with them and it was sent on toModa/ Ardon Health. Called them and even though they had my prescription and PA, they said they did not have Harvoni on their list and could not dispense the medicine and didn't know when it was expected to be reviewed and placed on the list. So I called the WA state RX services number on the back of my insurance card....they have never received a PA and had not received any info from the insurance company. So I called my hepatologist's office and it seems they sent my PA to the Regence RX provider for OREGON(where they are located) instead of Washington(where I live). Wa state RX services contracts with another formulary and that provider is Ardon....which doesn't have it listed in their formulary yet.  Plus Walgreens hadn't bothered to tell the hepatologist's office my PA was denied. My head is still spinning. I made sure to thank each representative on the phone for their help and let them know I knew the problem wasn't with them personally and what a mess this must be for them. They said they appreciate pro-active patients and to call back and to keep checking up on the progress.

So it looks like things are back to square one, but at least I am on the right path finally. I think we have the right to know what's going on and we need to double check what our providers are attempting to do. There is so much chaos and misinformation happening right now. We need to advocate for ourselves but with kindness to all involved. Even though a string of very unprintable words came out my mouth as soon as I hung up!!!!! Damn  I hate these patience trials.
