Well CC I have good news. From my experience so far, 7 months EOT and one month SVR, you are probably doing just about as good as I was. Another piece of good news is that you recognize the 'rage' and are aware of what's causing it. I still get bouts of it but I am getting better at overcoming it's effects and undoubtedly have less in my system as time passes.

Your husband, like my wife, deserves all the love I could ever offer her and much more than I will be able to possibly give her in a lifetime and our world is in a beautiful place right now but the rage, however infrequently, persists. Why??? Makes absolutely no sense...I guess it's a matter of us giving Riba more time to settle out.

Throughout my like I have NEVER had troubles sleeping. I could drink coffees in the evenings and still sleep well but starting about a month after tx I am having a heck of a time getting to sleep. Seriously. The 'baby steps' rule of thumb still applies even after you think it's ALL behind you no. From my experience, Riba is like a bad smell...it takes it's sweet time leaving.

Congratulations on making it through tx CC. Really a great accomplishment.

I had my final Interferon injection on October 30 and my last Ribivirin and Solvaldi yesterday. This being my first day without taking any of that stuff, I feel markedly improved, although I am left feeling rattled and definitely like I have been through an ordeal.

Hi Cathy,

Riba's such a weird drug. I hated it. Couldn't sleep (like you, took sleep aids which have their own issues), brain didn't hit on all cylinders (I was used to that), and mysterious joint and muscle problems, especially in the lower extemeties. Added to that, we've taken it in conjunction with other meds that are far from completely understood.

I started weaning from the sleep aid (Temazepam) almost immediately and in about a month I was gladly done with it. Didn't do an AD of any sort, but you might consider hanging onto the Wellbutrin a bit longer as the riba may take its own sweet time clearing your system. They have their half-life formulas for all of this, but we're all different and my own improvement was far from linear. I'd have to say it's all fairly well resolved at 6 months, though I've got some work to do at getting back in shape.

It will get better. Hang tough. wink

from my own experience it tool close to 6 months to get rib out of system I was lucky my spouse left in week 40 of treatment, I am also lucky because I belong to a 12 step program and really had to practice meditation more, would limit my time at tasks and when I felt myself getting tense would take a break go for a walk or play with the girls, they told me here that it took time and it did over a year post treatment and OK, a friend is 4 months post and gets riled when I smile when she gets upset especially when I tell her you can't have what I have because it is not your time yet lol

Hello there!

23 days since last dose! And yes, feeling somewhat better (all in my mind?) I will admit that the 'heebie jeebies' i was feeling during treatment have subsided; but the restless legs that became unbearable during treatment (and only rarely before) are still present. And, although I think the 'rage' (and mine manifested in ridiculous explosions at the stupidest things) has become less I still find myself reacting unreasonably. I maintain appearances publicly and at work (have to in my world) but man, when I'm alone or with my husband (poor thing) I STILL fly off the handle!

Here's the questionable part; anxious to rid my body of all toxins, including the routine medications I was on prior and during treatment, I have begun to wean myself off Ambien and Wellbutrin.

I'm thinking that maybe this might have been a little premature.

Thoughts?

Also, just to confirm that this is how RR is: example-- going about  my day, working as usual and one of the keys will stick on my keyboard. A rush of anger surges from my toes up through my chest until it's like I am the Hulk (or some other monster) I bang twice/three times on the stupid keyboard and then exhale, and it's gone. Good thing I work from home because I'd be screwed otherwise (or in more control?).  However, I have had days where the anger, once present, persists for several hours then drifts away almost as fast as it came. This happened just this last weekend which was very dissapointing because i haven't had a dose of Riba for 20 days. Could I have permanently lost my mind?

I know some of you have talked me down off this ledge before; and I apolgize for not posting in a more productive and positive manner. I promise that if I ever am able to bring my body and mind to a peaceful existance again I will share those good feelings as well.

But, tell me again (or not) is this how it manifests with any one else?
