Are you just trying to punish yourself? cry That's what it sounds like.  Imagine all the people who have went through the Interferon treatments who would have loved to be in your situation.  It's not a macho thing.  You don't have anything to prove to anyone.  If you don't get Harvoni, take AbbVie or Merck's drugs.  They also have high SVR rates, and the side effects have been pretty mild or non-existent for the most part.  Be your own best friend.

I highly doubt at this point they will put you on RIBA and interferon alone. They may try the sof / RIBA / int treatment, but that is only 12 weeks and doesn't have the side effects that the incevik / victrelis had. You are needing treatment at a great time in the hep c world. If your not cirrotic, then waiting for the Harvoni or something similar is your best option. They will be available to all hep c patients at some point, and hep c will be a mostly curable disease before we know it. So hard to believe....

Hey Josh

Sorry to hear your FPN made those remarks, she needs to keep up to date before the talked to her patients. What is true about treatment for HCV is,  its in the biggest change it will ever see. In the coming 1 1/2 years the interferon treatment will done, a thing of the past at least in most of the western world.

From what I read at this years AASLD convention the are re-writing the SOC for HCV treatment ( I mean right now this week)

so im visiting with my FPN and i bring up thee fact that people who are F-4 are having difficulty acquiring sovaldi or havroni ... she goes ya you proably wont get it either they will start you on the cheapest  TX they can find ... AND i think we all know what that means :) Interferon and Ribavarin ... ive heard how you all think thats the best treatment ever invented and that it even cures back pain and gives increased energy ... ya all wishfull lies.... ya i hear most of you say Inter and Riba are the scum of the Earth......... If its true and for first of all my FPN has no say in anything .. its my Gastro who will request what ever treatment shes sees fit so the FPN dosent know what the F :) shes talking about but lets just say they go the cheap route ... then HERES the setup ..???

what is it like 48 weeks of slow hell with the possibilty of no SVR :) so lets just say if im presented with that possible scenario and its not very likely do I go through with it knowing theier just wasting money ? even if it dosent work would I be healthier then I am now Liver wise or VL count or it really dosent matter U relapse u relapse means u still have the virus and any progress gained is imediately wiped out or is it a bit more complex then that ???

the way i figure it and i think its pretty accurate .... i will either get Sovaldi, inter, riba ... harvoni,,, the abbie V 3x combo with fries ,,,, or the afermentioned slow hell combo with milkshake

I just think it would be total lunacy for them to go on the premiss of well lets try the cheapest first hope it sticks to the wall then if it fails will go with the big guns ...

I dont know maybe thats standard i mean how many treatment Naive get top of the line meds >>>>>?   this all speculation till December 1st then i can ask my Gastro what her plan or request is... and of course i have consent and i know it :) once upon a time i said id be happy with anything .... I still believe that.... a part of me thinks i gota earn my stripes and suffer the slow hell you all did :) i also know they got rid of or are getting rid of incevick and bocepriv ... and dont they usualy combine Inter and riba with a DAA ???? or am i mistaken ... ???

and we all know how cheap Oregon is ... Come what may iLL proabably go along with what ever ... even if it lacks Logic...........
