And Bob,

I almost forgot, a primary indication of Candida is digestive issues. If you're not regular or you're having challenges after meals (bloating), you most likely have Candida overgrowth. Candida sucks!

Good luck my man. We're here for you.

Hi Bob,

I haven't had any issues with Candida associated with tx but I have been there with Candida caused by antibiotics last year. Candida can cause some wierd things and is definitely encouraged with sugars. It can cause some major issues also if not taken care of.

Get some good probiotics (refrigerated kind/ 15 billion cultures minimum and take three per day) and organic coconut oil (Cold pressed). Eat two to four TBS of coconut oil daily. Exercise helps burn that candida away. If you choose to not go this natural route, your family doc can prescribe Dyflucan but it can cause reactions like any other drug, it's hard on your liver too! Kiefer yogurt will help.

Holler if you have questions,

-Rob

Hi Bob,

Sure! The formula I used was a mix of Nystatin, Benadryl and Lidocaine. I used it 3-4 times daily, just swished (gargled) it around for a minute and spit out. It was immediately effective and the lidocaine relieved the pain right away (which was substantial). It took just over a week for it to correct if I remember correctly. Some experience problems throughout treatment and they provide enough to last a good while. I also found that eating plain, unsweetened yogurt helped too. It's not the best tasting flavor but it made a good difference. Had something to do with the active cultures in the yogurt, similar to my previous suggestion for a probiotic. Be sure to limit your sugar intake. If it's similar to what I had, sugar aggravated it. Good luck...

Tig56 - I googled the term magic mouthwash and see a bunch of different formulas. Can you tell me which is the formula you all were using?

Thanks for the replies. Something is definitely going on. I am going to take your advice and seek some medical attention to figure out exactly what is going on.

Hello Bob

I concur with Tig56, additional to limited your sugar products try cutting back on the wheat items and start your morning with lemon and water ( 1/2 lemon scooped out mixed with 16 oz. purified water and liquified on high speed mixer) this will help your kidney issue a ton if you do it daily.

Hi Bob,

Sorry to hear about the Candida issues you're having. Sounds to me like you need to seek the advice of a physician that will find time for you. Once you start developing problems that you're finding troublesome and painful, you need to get in to the doctor and find out what's going on.

I haven't heard of people experiencing the same types of symptoms you're having following S/O administration. When I was on treatment, I and many others experienced an oral yeast condition called "Thrush" and it sounds very similar to what you're describing. We used an oral mouthwash with several components that helped immensely, called Magic Mouthwash. Anytime you have a yeast base oral condition, you should be limiting sugars and carbs. There are some sources that recommend you start a good probiotic as well. Is it possible that you have developed a kidney or urinary tract infection from the candida (yeast) infection? A urine test would supply that information.

Try and get in to see a doctor, even a primary care doctor to rule some things out seems important right now. Good luck and keep us informed of your progress. I hope you feel better soon. Congrats on finishing Tx!

Hi all, it's been a little while since I have posted last. I wanted to see if anyone else has had any similar pains that I am experiencing while on treatment or post.

I am post treatment of a 24 week Sovaldi/Olysio protocol. I am at around week 6 EOT and since I have been off the medication, I have noticed that I have this pain that starts somewhere in my gallbladder area and then seems to move around in my kidneys. Not sure if inflammation is causing havoc, but becomes very uncomfortable. Urine is completely fine.

I was still clear of the virus at 4 weeks EOT and the pain was already there, so I do not think the virus is back. Calling my doctor is a big waste of time. I have sent emails and called with nothing. He is a very nice guy but not very good at follow ups. I was the one that went into his office and told him the medicine I wanted to take and he just agreed.

Something else that I have noticed since the EOT. I have always read about people getting candida after a virus or other illness and for some reason I feel as if that maybe an issue for me. I have a lot of white film and nodes at the back of the tongue. I never used to have this. My wife has it as well. I thought it was just maybe the food we were eating, but she went to the doctor and he told her that she had a candida overgrowth. So needless to say, I might have it as well. Would candida cause the issues I am having right now?

Thanks Bob
