Tom's apt with his GI isn't until Feb 19th. I think it is far off. Tom thinks it is ok as he wants to give his body a break from all the medications.  Thanks for the positive thoughts, we hope he can get approved for the harvoni.  Happy new year to all.

Hi Laura,

So sorry the Sovaldi/Riba treatment hasn`t worked for Tom, I really feel for you both with this news.  After all that you`ve been through it must feel like such a blow especially as it seemed to be going so well.  Try to keep your spirits up as best you can and best of luck with Tom`s CT scans.  Thank goodness anyway that the cancer hasn`t come back, that is certainly something very positive to hold onto.

Let`s hope that Tom will get a speedy approval for Harvoni treatment and that 2015 will be a much better year for you both.

All my best wishes to you and good luck!  smile

Hi Laura,

Sorry to hear Tom's results. Sovaldi/Riba is not that effective for Geno 1's, so hopefully he can get access to Harvoni.

Good luck with the CT. You deserve some good news. 2015 will be Tom's year!  Cheers.

Hi all,

Hope this message finds everyone well , in good spirit, and completing their own treatment with success.  I am very sad to report that we just received Tom's latest blood work results from Mt Sinai  and the treatment didn't work.  His hep C has returned.  Although his cancer has not returned this is not anything either one of us was expecting.  Tom is beside himself and depressed again.  I told him hopefully they will have him do the newest solvadi treatment which came out in October.   He was doing the solvadi and riba (six pills) and felt terrific.  It was his five week after treatment check up which reports it came back.  He is a geno type 1 which we know is hard to beat, but we really felt this time he won the battle.  He will make an appointment with his GI here and pray he gets approved again for treatment.  I can only pray and be grateful that his cancer has not returned.  Two more CT's and then we just go every six months for an MRI on his liver.  Hopefully 2015 will be the year.  A little down, but just thought I would let you know.  He was second guessing that maybe because he was on chemo and hep c treatment, that impacted it, but deep down inside, I know that it isn't true.  I'll keep you posted and wishing all of you success in your own battles.

Laura
