Hi Ed, good to hear from you again, and congrats on that great result!!

Really pleased for you after all this time, you must be overjoyed!  I agree with Tig about your liver enzymes, ALT and AST, they can fluctuate quite a lot before and during treatment so I wouldn`t be too concerned.

The main thing is that the virus is now undetectable and that`s a sure sign that the drugs are doing their job.

Sounds like your treatment is going very well so far, keep up the good work and do stay in touch!

Hi Ed,

Congratulations on your great news! Harvoni is proving to be quite the silver bullet against HCV. We are seeing this same results time and again with this protocol. Whats not to love? I'll be happier when everyone can get it on demand, but those negotiations seem to be more promising all the time. In the meantime, you keep at it like you have, maintain your hydration and nutrition guidelines, as well as getting the rest your body needs. It won't be long and you'll be celebrating that report we all love to see, SVR!!

Regarding your liver function studies, I wouldn't be overly concerned about that right now. There are several things going on throughout your body and metabolism. I've seen these numbers fluctuate during treatment on a regular basis. Were they performed by the same lab? Honestly, some drop, some stay the same and some elevate. But as you progress with treatment, I believe you'll start witnessing a reduction in those numbers over time. As your liver inflammation regresses, they will drop. You've only been on treatment for 4 weeks! You've received the best report of all, the undetected VL. Next time you'll likely see additional changes. Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. So enjoy the successes and understand that victory takes time. You'll get there, good luck!

Hi to all, haven't posted in while but i have great news.  I recieved the answer i was looking and praying for yesterday. My labs came back undetectable at my 4 week bloodwork on Harvoni. This is truly and miracle for me. I failed  my past treatments and for the first time i've ever been told you are undetectable. WOW

I do have one concern and that is. my AST is high (68) and my ALT is (93).  Not sure  if this is good or bad since my last labs before Harvoni.

Before treatment: AST was "47" and ALT was "45"  I have an appointment next week with the DR.  other than that i feel great all around, I'm eating right ,excercising , losing weight and getting plenty of rest.
