Hi Cornelia, the Harvoni seems to be the ticket for 1b.  Hope you get started before long. Side effects are not bad at all.  The time flies by.  I started Nov. 12 and remain UND.  My labs are much improved.  BTW don't worry about your English, we're thankful you're here.

Good luck, wishing you the best.

Hi there.  I am also GT 1b.  I have one more day on Harvoni.  I did the 8 week plan.  This group helped me get the first few days going!  I had sides and still do but nothing that kept me home in bed.  I sleep really good and hope that side effect stays with me :).   I am ready for it to end to see what waits on the other side.  I go Tuesday for my 8 week blood work but was UND at 4 weeks.  Good luck to you.

Hey there Cornelia. I am 1b and have been on Harvoni since November 23rd. I finish treatment in 14 days!! It has been relatively easy and uneventful. I had a headache for the first few days. I would strongly suggest drinking more water than you normally do. Hydration seems to be very important.  Right away I noticed the decrease in liver size because I could sleep flat on my stomach again. At my 2 weeks blood work, my AST and ALT levels were down from the 170's to near normal and at the 4 week blood test, I was undetectable.  I have also noticed that due to some unavoidable stresses and exposure to viruses that I have caught a couple URI and GI bugs, so remember to be easy on yourself and rest when you feel you need to.  I am sure if I had been more diligent with exercise it would have made things even better for me.  But everything is easily manageable, I am certain you will do well. This is a great group of people who have lots of experience and good information and if they do not have the answers, they will steer you in the right direction. Welcome aboard and keep in touch.

Hello, my name is Cornelia, I am 62 yrs. old and I was diagnose with HCV on 2000. I spend hours on the forum and I decided to go with new treatment.  Because I have genotype 1b I did not agree with conventional treatment. Two days ago I do blood work, next week I will do liver MRI and after that I am ready for the Harvoni. I notice they are not so many persons with GT 1 b. I will appreciated if somebody with same genotype will tell me, how Harvoni working against the virus.

If I made any English mistake please  excuse me, I am from Europe and English is second language from me.

Thank you

Cornelia
