My husband didn't finish the triple theapy either. ....his levels crashed and boy was he ever moody.  His choice of food was similar mostly peanut butter and ice cream.   Hot dogs were always available in a pinch and the large giant muffins from Sam's Club.  He doesn't each much of the above anymore except for the hot dogs.   His next treatment was the solvaldi and riba and that didn't work either...but at least he didn't have to eat the 20 grans of fat three times a day.  He just started his sixth attempt, Harvoni, like you, he is hoping this will be it. Compared to all the previous treatments, this should be a walk in the park for many. ...Best of luck to you....and heres to not having to eat all that FAT......

I gained 10 lbs from 20 grams of fat
And the fact that I slept a lot. I was so
Exhausted. I drank olive oil with a shot of
Almond milk. It was difficult to eat 20 grams
Of fat 8 hours apart.
Thankful Invicek worked for me.
It will be 2 years end of April.
It took a toll on me. Had to stay on medicine
For 48 weeks. But life is full again!!!
I had too much liver damage to wait for
Harvoni. So glad there is an easier way to treat.

Best wishes to all!

when i did telaprevir i had to take with fat also. i thought that w/b easy: cheesecake, a slice of tomato basil cheese which i love, a chocolate peanut butter mousse tart from the local bakery............

NOT!

I was so sick I didn't want to eat anything! But I wanted to try and stay on the treatment so what I ended up doing was figuring out the smallest dose of fat = the amt required.

I put a tsp of olive oil in a 1/4 cup of yogurt. NASTY!

Needless to say I didn't last too long on the program as the sides where too much. But give that a go and see how wonderful it tastes first thing in the morning! I dare ya......

Oh Yeah that was fun

I remember  peanut butter as a real quick need to get the fat

I like soft Bacon so  BLT wasn't bad but sometimes too much work or no bacon

Grill cheese made with a stick of butter

I thought this sandwich " The Elvis Presley " was creative but lost it's fun real quick.

Bacon / Peanut butter / and Bananas on white bread  No wonder Elvis was fat

Funny one time I need to take MED in a hurry I went into a what I thought was an ice cream shop  turns out it was a frozen yogurt shoppe

I was arguing with them to give me something FAT I need FAT 20 grms of FAT you mean you have nothing in here thats Fat? They were very puzzeled. How much Ice cream would I need?

so I went out and saw a hot dog wagon and bought 3 hot dogs told the guy I don't want buns toppings just dogs How many dognuts would equate to 20 grm of fat?

Looking back I should have just drank olive oil.

Trying to eat things anythings while your so sick from the drugs was the last thing I wanted to do

But being in this with all you guys did make me laugh at myself we did it together It's  a bitter sweet memory  LOL

I thought the same thing!  Unfortunately, it was far from enjoyable.  Hardest 12 weeks ever!  Glad we have a new & better way.

If someone told me I can have 20 grams of guilt-free fat, I think I'd go straight for Nutella.

I did ice cream as well.  How was the olive oil?  If I had to do it again I would try to find olive oil in capsules...I would have paid big money for something like that!

Hahaha oh boy lets see.

I did the table spoons of olive oil, three at a time.

Haagen Daz ice cream

Jimmy Deans in the morning for me too.

Peanut butter.

When I was in the hospital for my first transfusion I cleaned all the little Debbies out of the snack machine.

The only thing I can't eat now are the Jimmy Deans. It took a long time for me to be able to enjoy the other foods on my list even the ice cream.

Hey BAS,

You're going to get some pretty good responses to this one! Of course many of our Incivek warriors are either cured or on diets now! Seriously, I almost wished I could have taken it, instead of the Victrelis I took. I thought the Incivek was the "better" drug and only for 12 weeks vs the 24 I took Vic. I think I was fortunate now, but who cares, I won thank God!

One member I remember took his with several tablespoons of either Olive oil or Coconut oil. I can't imagine swallowing it in the form of shots, but he did and he prevailed if memory serves me! We all did some bizarre stuff in the name of compliance and success. i encourage everyone to always do what it takes to win this battle, because it pays off in the end...

Let's hear your worst incivek foods!

New guy here, about to start Harvoni.  I made it 12 weeks on the incivek triple therapy before I had to quit due to inadequate response, what a terribly difficult 12 weeks that was! I was devastated to have made it through the incivek pills only to have to stop 12 weeks in.

I've pushed treatment out of my mind for a long time, but now that I have new options I started to reflect on my journey so far.  Somewhat humorous (after the fact) is all of the things I ate to get that dreaded 20g of fat 3 times a day (including early in the morning) with incivek.  It has been more than 2 years and I still can't eat any of these.

Some of the worst:

-3 Lindor mint truffles (bought a huge case, couldn't stand them after the first week)

-Spoonfuls of straight peanut butter

-Buttered croissants by the dozen

-4 tablespoons of heavy cream mixed with coffee

-Frozen "Jimmy Dean" breakfast sandwiches
