Hey Lon, Day 3 of Harvoni for me and I'm feeling good.  So good, in fact, that I shovelled yesterday, cleaned the kitchen, went out to dinner and hit a movie.  I haven't done that in quite some time with the fatigue cloud that's been hanging over me.  Slight headache today so I'm trying to keep hydrated more..I'm definitely not a water person, but I'm trying.  I haven't said "I feel good" in years!  I know how you feel... :)

Congratulations Lon! I'm on day 31 of 8 weeks after a 4 week battle with my GI's staff to get them to do their job. First labs are tomorrow and I'm both excited and a tad nervous.

The first week of treatment I had a hideous headache, but I get those anyway. Nothing a couple tramadol and a LOT of water couldn't fix. Started my second and last bottle of Harvoni Friday. Except for feeling wrung-out dishrag exhausted, I feel terrific. My short-term memory is getting better. Mostly, I'm less cranky better able to handle daily irritations.

I completely second your thoughts. For anyone who's trying to get on-treatment put the doctor's office, insurance, and the specialty pharmacy in your contacts list. Call, daily if necessary, until they get more tired of you calling than not doing their jobs.

Again, congrats on starting treatment!

Hi Everyone,

After a 10 week battle with my insurance company I was finally approved for 8-weeks of Harvoni.  The 8-week duration is because my viral load was under 6 million.  For anyone getting ready to take the medicine, I have found it to be a breeze so far.  No side effects at all.  I'm having good gym workouts and I'm feeling good.  I'm actually feeling better than good.  I don't think it's my imagination but my mental fog has lifted a little bit during the last 24 hours and my attitude and perspective are much better.  In my humble opinion I think this virus effects people in more ways than they realized.  For myself having had it for over 30 years, I had gotten use to feeling tired and foggy and cranky all the time.  I feel that these symptoms are starting to lift a little bit and I'm excited to begin feeling like a real person again.

For anyone battling the doctors and insurance companies, don't give up.  The effort is well worth the reward.

Best Regards,

Lon
