my dad started chemo like january 25 ? had 2 courses 1 shot every 3 weeks gets 3rd shot next week port in chest ... on more pills then i can count... but mainly hydromorphone... fentanil patch 3 day patch 50mcgl.... oh Lovinox shot..blood thinner... and various other pills but those come to mind spose to be on chemo till June i think.....

Looks hellish.... lucky me i get to see that everyday..... i stay sane by knowing i can help him as much as i can bringing him stuff and talking to him about everything thats in the works ...

like his med marijuana card... femla..ssdi...aflac...

and i go get anything he asks of me.... i can only help so much and i know it... ive even told him that... i cant do a damn thing for pain when patches and pills ware off.... ive seen alot in my short life... but watching cancer is deffinetly not fun but i will be there for him as he has always been there for me.....

far as hep B goes i had 2 out of 3 shot series like over 10 yrs ago for that... lol i dont need hep B on top of my Hep C no thank you...

I hope your friend is doing better Michaele

im sure she is if she has you around

She has gone through too much already and I'm sorry to hear this has affected her too. Some days you just stand there and shake your head, wondering why these things happen to nice people (or anyone). It sounds like she has a good sense of humor and is motivated to regain her health and stay busy while doing it. That seems to be a constant in many people not willing to quit, they keep working. I wish her well. Fortunately HBV is treatable, but like any treatment, it takes time and has its own set of issues. Your recommendation for Hep A and B vaccinations is a good one and everyone here should have them! Thanks for sharing this story.

Hi my friend who is a 70 yr old cancer surviver was just notified by the health dept that she has Hep B .  It must be chronic , as they told her they can treat her with meds. One yr after being cured  of lung cancer/non smoker , she developed lesions on the brain which are common with lung cancer survivers . She had radiation to the brain . She worked the complete time , and can hardly walk now but is still working in her antique shop . I almost had to laugh when I said , "Well, you didnt get it from me."  She did laugh , but was upset that her entire family needs to be tested. Its  easier to get Hep B and it can damage the liver , just like Hep C .  I know this doesnt relate to us , but actually it does . Make sure you get tested and  vaccinated against Hep A & B      Michaele
