Hi and welcome FlaRed.

Congrats on the Undetected. It should be a walk in the park compared to Peg/ Riba.

Best of luck. CHEERS.

Hi FlaRed, welcome to the forum and thanks for introducing yourself.

I`m glad you stumbled upon us, you`ll soon find that this is a very friendly group with lots of helpful and supportive members.

Congrats on being UND after 4 weeks on your Harvoni treatment, that`s an excellent result, especially from a pre-tx viral load of 16 million!!

It must feel amazing for you this time around after your previous unfortunate attempt with Inf/Riba, and you must be so happy that it`s going so well.

Please feel free to look around the forum and join in the discussions, and ask any questions you may have.

Wishing you all the best of luck with the rest of your treatment, magic really does happen with Harvoni!  smile

I just happened upon this forum and wonder why I had not found it earlier.  I joined the Harvoni Club in January.  I am treating for 12 weeks, and I have 3 weeks to go.  I had tried the interferon/ribavirin poison in 2009 and, after only 18 days, ended up in the hospital unsure of my future.  Fortunately I recovered from that episode and I had time to wait for the "miracle cure".

In October 2014 Harvoni was approved by the FDA, and I made an appointment with my GI-doc.   The anxiety and apprehension continued to grow as I waited for December 16th.  I wanted to know if I was a candidate for this treatment, and thankfully we decided to make a go at it.  I had new labs drawn that day.   My doctor recommended that we wait until January to seek approval from my insurer to avoid the potential for paying two deductibles (one for 2014, one for 2015)  My lab report showed my ALT/AST was out of whack, and VL was up to 16 million!

The prescription was submitted to insurance on January 6th.  I was amazed how quickly it was approved - no hassles at all.  My first package of three arrived on January 22nd, and I immediately ripped open the box.  I deliberated about when I should take it - morning or evening - and finally just popped #1 at 8:00 p.m.  I had zero side effects until Sunday when I developed a slight headache.  Since then I have not had any significant sides.

My 4 week labs came back undetected!

I feel blessed, lucky, and very thankful for this medication. And, my insurance has covered the entire treatment.  I thank the man upstairs and I do believe in Magic!
