Hi! Congrats on your UDT! That's exciting, isn't it? I think from what I read that many people are UDT at 4 weeks, but some take a bit longer. It was Mallani, I believe, who explained it with his discussion of mutations but I forget which genes he said.

I've been super lucky in that I've had no sides I can definitely attribute to tx. This tx is much nicer than the older ones, but some people do have some side effects. I was really concerned about heartburn, but as long as I watch what I eat I've been okay. I'm off all my meds during tx except for potassium (mine was low) and synthroid because I wasn't taking any chances there could be a yet to be discovered interaction. I wanted this to be one and done. We'll see.

Do you drink plenty of water? I take my weight (in pounds), divide by 2 and drink that many ounces of water every day. I think this is why I've done so well.  I'm sure others will have even better suggestions. This is just what worked for me.

Again, congrats on your 4 wk labs. Tx will be over before you know it.

Hi King,

I'm glad to see you! Congratulations on the undetected, that's great! It's not uncommon to see an early undetected on this protocol and I'm going to say that we generally always see it between weeks 4 and 8. It truly is a huge improvement and difference over the interferon treatments just two years ago. I'm very glad to see all of these improvements. How long is your treatment length?

I'll let one of the members that is taking this to respond to your questions. It's not uncommon to experience some issues on any protocol. I have heard many here complain of the indigestion and heart burn. Ask your doctor about antacid use during treatment. Gilead recommends none for 4 hours before or after taking the medication. Your pharmacy or Gilead can respond to this issue as well.

Hello all. Well been on Harvoni for lil over 6 weeks now. When I got my 1 month blood test Hep C was undetectable. I cant remember 8 years ago when I was on interferon if I ever was undetectable. All I know is I was really sick and it didn't work. Cant say that this time around. So is this pretty much standard to be undetectable at 4 weeks. Having few side effects. Had to switch my daily dose from taking it in the morning to right before I go to bed. I was having some stomach discomfort along with acid indigestion. Does anyone else have extremely dry mouth. I wake up all night long with the most unpleasant dry mouth. Its horrible. Well I look forward to hearing from you pals. Thanks for being here for me.
