Hi Harry,

As a fellow Vet that understands the VA system fairly well, I understand completely. We will always do our best to provide knowledgable opinions, but we can't advise you on medications. I'm sorry about that. I will recommend a call to Support Path if you have a question on drug interactions. I've also had good luck getting advice from my local Walgreens pharmacist in a pinch. Most pharmacists will help you whether you buy something or not.

These are just suggestions and I hope they help.

You guys all say check with my Dr., but that's not so easy when you're in the VA system.  They just give you the pills and say see you in a couple of weeks.

Hi Harry,

Viagra should not be used with the antiproteases. My Victrelis prescribing information had it listed.

On that basis, it should not be used with Viekira Pak.

Although it's not listed as an interaction with Harvoni, check with your Hepatologist.

Lucky you for being able to think about such things. For my 48 weeks, it was not on my mind  at all!!

I know for a fact that you can't take it with Viekira Pak because of the Ritonavir component. I know that your talking about Harvoni though. Let me give you an example. Three of the meds I have been taking for years are specifically banned by my Dr. And they are not on any list I see anywhere as inter-acting with Viekira Pak. But he said no way. So yes, its best to check with your Dr. first. I won't take an aspirin with-out his permission.

Hi V-w-C, Viagra isn`t listed in the documentation as a drug to avoid while on Harvoni but I would double check with your doctor to make sure.

I was pleased to read on another thread that your treatment has got off to such a good start, long may it continue!   smile

Occasionally I need a little Viagra to get my blood flowing in the right place and have reduced my dose down to 20mg.  I've googled and can't find any warnings about that.  Can anyone advise??
