Hi again O,

I`m glad you saw your doctor and he`s provided an explanation for the sleep paralysis episodes you`ve been experiencing, I must say they sounded quite scary!  I expect you`re feeling a lot more reassured now you understand more about what`s going on.

Best of luck with your ultrasound scan, and try not to worry too much.  If it does turn out that you need to treat the Hep C the new drugs now available have amazingly high success rates and you`ll be able to clear the virus and move on with your life.

Keep in touch and let us know how it goes, and I hope everything works out well for you!  smile

Thanks Jill. I went to the doctor today. After describing my sleep paralysis episodes in more detail and reviewing my meds, he said that I'm actually having small seizures from Klonopin and Clonidine withdrawal. I've been on them for years and my taper was too aggressive. So they have nothing to do with Hep C!

The joint pain and legs locking up could also be from withdrawal so maybe my acute phase was when my viral load was at it's highest last month. They sent me for an ultrasound on my liver so if that's good then I'll just sit tight for the next couple of months and see if I'm one of the lucky ones and this clears on its own. If it doesn't and there's not a spike in viral load or a more pronounced acute period, then I can start treatment. Feeling better - emotionally :)

Hi again O,

You`ve got a lot going on there and it`s very difficult for us to tell  you exactly what`s happening.  Joint aches and pains and `flu like` symptoms are generally among the most likely symptoms that people experience with an acute Hep C infection, although it varies a lot from person to person.

Here`s a link to some information about acute Hep C and the most common symptoms...

http://www.hepatitiscentral.com/hepatitis-c/hepatitis-c-signs-symptoms/

Coming off heroin can take longer than you think as well, not only the physical withdrawals but also the mental side of it, and I would think that is also playing a part in what you`re going through.

I remember getting those dreadful cramps in my legs and feet too, they are so painful and I really sympathise!  Luckily I don`t get them any more, or at least I haven`t for a long while.

Sorry you`re going through all this, hang on in there and I`m sure things will get better!  It`s great that you have such a caring sister and your lovely rescue dog there with you, you`re not alone and we`re here to help as much as we can.

Take care and let us know how it goes...  smile

Can someone tell me if these are symptoms? I can't google anymore! My withdrawals from H went away about two weeks ago so I don't know what's what if that makes sense. My doc says that I might have acute symptoms having just been diagnosed with transmission likely 2-3 months ago.

I've been feeling fine except for joint pain and the bottoms of my feet hurt. Nothing too uncomfortable. Tonight all of a sudden my legs cramped up badly. Almost locked in pain all the way down to my feet. My throat started to tighten up too but I think that was because I started to panic. It finally faded to a tingling sensation. Now only the bottom of my big toes still hurt.

I also keep getting this bizarre sleep paralysis. I doze off but am aware of what's going on around me. I can actually moan a bit but I can't move a muscle. It happened twice while I was watching TV tonight and my sister had to shake me saying I was having a nightmare. The other night, the dog heard me and came and licked my facemy rescue dog :)

Anybody have this?
