Hey Bubble,

I wouldn't worry about it either. I have always had normal blood glucose levels throughout my life. As soon as I started treatment, albeit P/R/Vic, my fasting glucose levels started to rise, as did my A1C. The doctor monitored it, knowing he had other patients experiencing the same effect. He felt that the anemia was responsible for the changes and there are articles mentioning that same impression. It seems the tests can be affected as a result. If you do some reading on the potential adverse effects of Ribavirin, you will find that it can affect blood sugar. Diabetic patients have to be monitored very closely because of the potential for misinterpretation of glucose results. So long story short, whatever the cause, once my treatment ended so did the glucose elevation. I would listen to your doctor and not be concerned.

PS: Congrats on your UND!!! Woot!!

My first blood test on Vikera-pac/Riba was all good except a flag for Glucose/Serum. About 124. "Undetected" also as far as the virus. I took the blood test on an empty stomach at 6:15am. Fasting was not required. Could I be diabetic? Maybe the Riba is causing this?  I have been short of breath at times. No dizzyness. Has anyone seen flags for this? Doc re wrote the bloodwork for same standard work ups for my 8 week test next week. Guess he's not real concerned.  Need any info. Thank-you.
