Hey Kicking,

Here's some information regarding our abbreviations and instructions on setting up the signature line that Bubble mentioned, if interested. It does help to know what treatment, some history etc. that you're going through.

Hi Kickingit! Welcome to the forum.  Welcome a new "Vikerian" to the train. So glad you stood tall with the insurance co. All must do. Your Abbvie and Accredo nurses will go to bat also for you. I just paid my 15 dollars for all 3 shipments and am in my 8th week. You have great stats and IMO you will easily attain SVR. Positive attitude is the key. Could you fill your signature please?. All of us here share our experiences with the new treatments and all are very much ready to kill their  dragon. Even our fellow "Harvonians".   Don't let the "I feel great" thing fool you. Hep C can do a lot of damage before it rears up. Your liver is called the "silent organ" of your body. Take a seat! Good Luck.

Thanks Jill and Tig.

Yes, insurance denial was due to not being stage 3.

(Which from a personal and also from a public health perspective is such utter BS, but I digress.)

Posted in the Viekira Train thread too, thanks for pointing me to it.

Hello Kickingit,

Welcome to the forum, you're definitely among friends that understand what you're dealing with. It has been common for people to get denied Harvoni. It's usually due to the low fibrosis score. The approvals are getting better but we still see denials for many that aren't F3-4.(advanced fibrosis).

I see Jill provided you with the link to our popular Viekira Train thread. Lots of personal info there. Be sure to use our search function too. We've got a lot of information available that should prove helpful. If we can answer any questions, please let us know.

You should do very well on Viekira, especially since you're treatment naive. The courses of treatment are easier and shorter now, so I hope the time goes by quickly. The odds of success are very high, so start planning that Hep C free future! Good luck!

New member here.

I'm 35 years old, genotype 1b. Fibrosis F1-2. Treatment naive.

No symptoms as far as I know, I feel healthy. Most likely had Hep C since I got a blood transfusion as a newborn.

I was diagnosed in 2009 after some routine blood work.

Joining the forums as I'm about to start Viekira Pak. (Was denied Harvoni several times by my insurance. Unexpectedly got Viekira Pak via an AbbVie voucher from my doctor.)

I haven't seen much information out there on it, so I figure I'll be the guinea pig and share my experience with it.
