Hi Joann

That was a good Idea ( Attorney General Office)  and seems they got right on it.   I can recognize a crime but don't know what to do about it  Good Call Thanks Joann. That's what makes this site the best.

Sharing our experience and knowledge  This may come in handy again.

Hi Dickey,

I finished my 12 wk course of Harvoni, but at 8 weeks my insurance company suddenly informed me that the specialty pharmacy would change from Caremark to Express Scripts.  Express told me that they had no info on me, no medical records, etc. and that the last shipment would be delayed by 2 wks.  That would mean missing more than 7 days of medication.

I wrote a simple, to the point email to the CT Attorney General's Office.  The Assistant Attorney General actually called my insurance company, and the next day!!! I received my medication from Express Scripts.

I agree with Bill; it is a crime and my attorney general knew it and acted on my behalf to protect a victimized citizen.

Best of luck with your treatment,

Joann

That's weird but in short I'm not surprised, If this is the case ( 8 weeks instead of 12 without warning ?) My opinion ???   we are the most important person in all this who should know where we stand with UND. and any changes in our treatment.   and being last to know that we may not get to finish our med is a CRIME. These insurance people are way out of line. If there is so much hype with HEPA laws and privacy who gives the insurance company a right to make a decision like that? I say that's a foul and against  medical ethics. If they are allowed to do this we all better look out.  Please keep us posted on what happens

I'm hoping it's just some smartass pharmacy tech that thinks he has an answer.

Good luck dickey

I am on my 39th day of 12 week Harvoni & my doctor did not request blood work even after calling before the first 4 weeks. The pharmacy told me that some insurance companies were refusing to pay the remainder of scripts if your blood work came back clearno. Now I understand why my doctor wants to wait 3 months post treatment.
