You have to take charge and get your rep to contact medicare. Medicare cant allow you to be left out at this stage. Obama care says no but your rep who will fix this. Call them today

Write a short pointed email to your state attorney general; quickly.  If you google your state and attorney general you will find a dot gov email address.  Explain that you will be out of medication, end up sicker than prior to treatment, if you run out of medication.  The subject line should include "illegal denial of benefits"  sort of thing.

Include your insurance carrier, their phone number, and your policy number.  If feel threatened by Gilead's call, by all means tell the attorney general.  Good luck,

Joann

There is a guy on here with an extra bottle sitting around.... ;)

I really hope they don't stop your treatment for money. Especially less than $2000 when they are getting almost $90,000 from your plans.

My co-pay is expected to be $3000 after my plan taps out and I switch to my husbands. The gilead lady said there is an excellent chance they would cover it. My pharmacist says for sure they will. Hope they don't do the same thing to me. While I could pay it, it would be difficult for sure.

it's so sketchy!

Hey Cool Heat, I am onboard with Hess. I went to the Gilead Support Path and got a $5 dollar coupon twice! Only to be shot down bymy insurance co. for Express Scripts for Vikera Pac. So go get them. Sounds like a familiar pattern With Gilead. Abbvie/Vikera-pac has been very smooth. Total cost of Vikera for 3 months was 15 dollars. Ribavirin was 36 dollars for 3 months.  All with finacial assitance program. Your not alone on this subject.

Hi Tess, and thanks to all who have responded.  Harovni or Gilead programs of help, I was told would not assist me.  Non of what I am saying has anything to do with whether I feel its worth it.  I do feel blessed that almost all  price has been granted through Medicare.  Some people are caught making too much to qualify for any help, and not enough to be at all times prepared for such situation.  I have trust it will work out.  He_L, you're all proof of that.  I have 11 pills left. Any and all information regarding this will be pursued.  I truly thank you and feel like y'all care. Can't buy that! Hugs, Marsha

Marsha,

As we discussed, here is the list we have on the forum. Don't forget your state attorney general and insurance commissioner's office as well. Good luck!

CH - have you tried Gilead Support Path? If your Medicare is Part D, they might not help, but otherwise they'll provide coverage. I have Blue Cross and got the coupon.  Even if you have Medicare Part D it's worth a call to Support Path, 1-855-769-7284 - they might have suggestions.  I hope you find some help!  Keep checking in.

"We believe that cost should not be a barrier to receiving treatment. Thats why the makers of HARVONI offer a co-pay coupon. If you are eligible, you may pay no more than $5 per co-pay.

Please note the following:

  • You are not eligible if you are enrolled in a government healthcare prescription drug program such as Medicare Part D or Medicaid. This includes when you are in the Medicare Part D coverage gap known as the "donut hole."
  • The HARVONI Co-pay Coupon Program will cover the out-of-pocket costs of your HARVONI prescriptions up to a maximum of 25% of the catalog price of a 12-week regimen of HARVONI. See Terms and Conditions below."

Hello Coolheat

I am so sorry to read of your predicament. Their is a number of well funded foundations for helping with treatments but the question will be if they can respond fast enough to help.

The Pan foundation and many others

Hi all, somewhat stressed here.  Has anyone had this happen to them in dealing with Gilead?  Gilead called me this afternoon and wanted to know if they could get my second months worth in order for shipping; I said a big "YES".  I am currently on my 3rd day of my 3rd wk. of treatment.  My original co-pay was almost 4,000.00 with Medicare and top insurance of Blue Shield.  At that time I ask the man if he knew what if any co-pay there might be in the future.  He said he did not know, but it would most likely be low.  So today, she said how would you like to pay for this and I said How Much Will It Be?  She said $1,675.00. I told her right now I am currently tapped out and what about my ins. and Medicare.  She just reiterated $1,675.00.  I ask if she could hook me up with the credit or some dept. that might have financial help.  Then she said that because I have medicare and Blue Shield I do not qualify for any assistance from Gilead.  Then she said; it will be too bad if I have to discontinue my treatment at this point.    ANY IDEAS?  CH
