Now that's an unexpected blessing!!! Maybe you're onto something Gilead needs to know, lol! After HCV is eradicated, they could use the left over Harvoni as an insect repellent, ha, ha! Now that's some expensive bug stuff!!!

MORE GOOD NEWS... Mosquitos won't bite me anymore. Must be the harvoni...lol. Before I'd get eaten alive at dusk when they are at their worst. Tonight, not a bite! My hubby is slapping them away like crazy. Maybe I'll start a garden.

Woot!!!!

As far as the advancements in the treatment of Hep C goes in the past couple year this speaks volumes. Happy for you Gracie

Hey Gracie,

Thanks for the update. Even in the bathroom, the humidity is only elevated during a shower, etc. Here in Florida our current average indoor humidity is 45-50%, under AC. Outside its killer high during this time of the year. I would love to trade you for some drier air! I kept most of my medications in the refrigerator while I was on tx, it was required. I tested the internal humidity on my fridge just out of curiosity. It averaged 25% and 38 degrees F. People like Redbird, living in the desert, could resort to refrigerated storage if there was ever a concern about either.

Sounds like you're experiencing some of the typical first week's side effects, headaches.  Remember to maintain above average hydration, especially if you're working out. These meds can dehydrate you, adding additional perspiration to the mix may cause some increased side effects. Just keep that in mind. Good luck!

The pharmacist said the pill case is A-ok. Just don't store it in high humidity, which, if you lived in Canada, you'd know it's not really a humid place. I'll move it out to my room from the bathroom just to be safe.

The first two days haven't been bad. A slight headache. Occasional weird feeling, but mostly just normal. Did my running class tonight no problems. Hope this is as Bad as it gets.

Got the call for the screening throat scope to check the veins. That should be fun... not!

I gotta say, I feel like it's working already! Pretty pumped!

Thanks Jaded, I'm sure it's fine as it's only 7 pills at a time, and it's inside a case, inside another case inside my cupboard and I have a huge bathroom, but to be sure, I will send my pharmacist a note this morning. Don't want to take any chances, that's for sure.

thanks for the heads up ... :)

Thanks everybody.

I took pill number 1 at 7.30 am and laid down and waited for something to happen. Fell back to sleep and had some cool dreams as others mentioned (my house was larger and I was sliding around these huge rooms with socks on thinking I should make my own yoga studio... Ha ha). Got up an hour or so later and still nothing. It's 11 now. If this keeps up, the hardest thing will be not forgetting to take the pill. I've got a reminder on my phone, and have it on my calendar as well (with the intention of deleting as I take them).

Figured it out, my last pill is December 19 so Happy Holidays to me!

No worries about the pill container Jaded, it zips up into a cute little suitcase that I will keep inside my bathroom cabinet. Got two little dogs who like to chew things and not taking any chances....

... feeling stoked and loving this harvoni train ....

It's up to you what you do but I was specifically told NOT to remove it from the original bottle and NOT to keep it in the bathroom due to moisture...it must be stored in a cool dry place. It also needs the silica gel desiccant in the bottle. You are possibly risking ruining the pills and compromising your treatment so I suggest you run this by your Pharmacist and Dr because it's not worth the chance.

Hi Gracie, glad to hear you're getting started.  You should have few problems with this regimen. I found the pill dispenser very important in making sure I took my meds every day. There were a number of occasions I wasn't sure if I'd taken my meds.......looking at the daily dispenser helped confirm the meds were taken.  Good luck, the time passes quickly.  Soon you'll be rid of the nasty virus.

Just so you now...they tell you not to remove the pills from the original container. They are light sensitive for one...I'd forget about the pill case.

I'm back from the city that doesn't sleep. Had a tiring, run off my feet, two broadway shows, Century 21 shopping, hot dog eating week and now it's down to business. I figure I have 2 or 3 weeks to initially clear the dragon, and then it will be gone, hopefully forever!

Officially start week one tomorrow morning. Bought myself a brand new pill case for the occasion. Surprised at how large the pills are. Cheers to others who have gone through this day before me. I'm excited and scared, not willing to allow myself any other outcome but SVR.

How will I ever sleep tonight.....
