Hi Mike,

Thanks for the update. I'm in a similar position. My platelets are a bit better, but who cares.

Enjoy life mate. Cheers.

Hey Mike

Great to hear from you, even better to read about your current health status. Yes the longer you live will good health habits the more your liver will recover its capicity to function.

Slow but sure the good old liver does it's thing.

Hoping to join you in the future.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the update! Sounds like everything is really progressing well for you and I'm thrilled to hear all of your positive news. Seems like your Hepa is on board and agreeing with all the improvements too. When they start telling you that some tests will no longer be needed and are giving you a big thumbs up for the future, you can't help but be excited. You should continue to see improvements in several areas, so you've got a lot to look forward to. The lab tests are normalizing and your platelets should improve in time as well. At 117, you don't have anything to worry about. Just knowing they should improve, as your liver has time to recover from years of HCV, should give you confidence that all will be right.

Enjoy the surfing and don't forget the sunscreen, lol! Good luck and please stay in touch....

Just checking in to share what's up with me. I certainly hope many here reading this have cleared and those that have just cleared or are on Treatment get something positive from this post.

I am cirrhotic , hence my being I the turquoise trial to begin with . I went thru 24 weeks .

My hepatolgist has taken me off endoscopes but I still get labs and an ultrasound every 6 months.

He explained it to me like this . What I now have is a scar on my liver and as long as I take  care of myself , don't drink and eat a decent diet I'll probably die from something else.

i am surfing and traveling again . Life is pretty good. I do have energy and sleep issues still

all my labs with the exception of the platelets (117 last draw) are Normal

i am a 1b and probably acquired hep practicing some risky behavior in 1972 when they diagnosed me with Hep B back then it was don't drink for 6 months then carry on..Which I did , less the IV drugs

just want to play this forward because I remember oh too well what it was like, failing interferon, feeling like crap, spaced  and worrying all the time about stuff my wife , my family, and my friends just couldn't get

im bummed to read about the difficulty in getting the drugs needed . It's almost criminal.

just don't give up.there's  light at the end of the tunnel

bless this site and the people who moderate it. Got me through some really rough times . I'm forever grateful

I'm 63 now!!!!

( I don't spell check so please excuse any confusing worDs)
