Hey Rob,

Sounds like great news from the doctor! The new glasses will be helpful I'm sure. I just had mine replaced, twice and they still aren't worth a _____. Fill in whatever word works! I'm happy to hear you're getting your liver pain under control as well. I'm thinking you're on your way to success. Keep us posted, and good luck! smile

Hi Brian,

Only from personal experience, I think that if you have not eaten meat for a long time, then a reaction isn't unusual when you do have some.  I've been off meat for a few years and when I had a meal that I thought was meat free, but which had a sauce that probably did have meat in it, I ended up with an upset stomach after just a few bites.  I hope you feel better soon.  Definitely a good idea to get your liver checked out!

Best wishes,

Tess.  ty tess it probably was thar steak

Do you have the gallstones? If yes it can be a gallstones moved to bile duct because you ate some meat and blocked it for a while. LOW in fat isn't equal to VERY small quantity, it means lower then regular, but this "lower" can be only 5% lower. This is the fact hidden behind all low in fat food ...

Any red meat contains fat. The fat is dispersed by the bile which is stored in your gall bladder. After eating the bile is injected to your duodenum and helps to emulsify and disperse the fat. If you have you the gallstones the bile flow can move them to the ducts and block them. This situation can create some severe pain, cramps and other unlikely symptoms. In worst case scenario when your gallstones are too big or you have too many smalls of them this obstruction can lead to the internal inflammation of the gall bladder. Sole solution in some worst cases is the cholecystectomy - the surgical removal of the gall bladder. I had one, I know what this pain is...

If the gallstones aren't the case it can be the biliary dyskinesia - it's a first symptom when you have some biliary or liver problems. And yes - it can be initiated after eating some types of food.

The gallstones can be easy detected by ultrasound.

About biopsy... which stage of the fibrosis you had before the tx? I missed this one... Normally with F1/F2 you don't need an additional biopsy after tx without the significant symptoms.

I ate  a very small piece of  filet mignon, like 3 oz plain today as my body is screaming for protein .. badly,. about an hour latter,  I had significant, rebellious , Objection from my liver in the form of pain. . I had a  very lean, small LOW fat hamburger    a few weeks ago, plain , no problem. .

I have also have a really BAD  cold as I am in the sub-artic " command  capsule from which we  run the show, but I felt today like I did when I was diagnosed. very weak, and mad liver.   Is this something to be concerned about?

One thing fr sure, he keeps telling me I don't need  a biopsy or scan, but when I get home I am going to INSIST !!! Or I will do it myself.  It really just freaked me out as this is how I felt before treatment .

Thanks for listening
