I have seen some interest in various supplements recently. I thought it a good time to bump this back into the forefront. If you would like me to start a new thread on the topic, let me know. We do have several old threads, but they haven’t been active in some time. Use our search function to find those discussions. I keep this one closed so we don’t bury the link.

PS: Iris,  Hepatoxin is definitely a word!

There has been some discussion on supplementation and I felt it might be a good time to bump this resource up for those that missed it. If you're taking ANY supplements, they can affect your treatment, as well as liver. Always discuss what you're taking with your physician. You should pass on the supplements during treatment. Research this database for some information that may help enlighten you.

Enter "Supplements" in our search box for additional discussion on the topic.

Hi Everyone,

We so often discuss the impact medications and/or supplements have on our liver health. This searchable website, courtesy of Livertox and the NIH, is very comprehensive and if I may say so myself, a great find and excellent resource for all of us dealing with HCV and the ongoing concerns of liver health. I hope you will find this helpful. Instead of opening this for discussion, I'm going to close it so it doesn't get buried and make it a Sticky, so it's readily accessible via the index. Anyone wanting to discuss this further is free to start a new thread to accomplish that.

LIVERTOX® provides up-to-date, accurate, and easily accessed information on the diagnosis, cause, frequency, patterns, and management of liver injury attributable to prescription and nonprescription medications, herbals and dietary supplements. LIVERTOX content produced by the NIDDK and NLM is in the public domain and its free use is encouraged.  It is requested that any subsequent published use be given appropriate acknowledgement.
