The first four months EOT I felt liver area sensations all the time.  I too had concerns.  But I am almost 7 months EOT now and I no longer worry about relapsing much.  I can now free my mind to worry about a kazillion other irrational things!  I am a worrywart afterall.

Hey Steven

I agree with all of the other comments as well, but can totally understand the concern of feeling a strange pain/irritation as I have had them as well. But we must believe that they are more related to the recovery process than relapse.

your on your way to SVR

Than you guys. I appreciate all the responses. It's comforting to be able to voice my concerns here and have people who have been in my shoes or have gone through this encourage me. You know sometimes our minds can be our worst enemy. I will try to stay positive and stay in faith to get my SVR. Thanks again for the responses and support. God bless

Hi Steven,

Sorry I missed your post until this morning. I agree completely with the last two comments. The data shows if you're going to relapse, it is within 4 weeks, 95% of the time, which coincides with the chances for SVR at EOT+12. If you follow the data, the rates of SVR are coming in even higher than that. These are very effective protocols and as Jill mentioned, your SVR after a EOT+8 is virtually guaranteed.

Many of us have experienced the same right upper quadrant pain you're experiencing. Since the liver itself has no pain receptors, the discomfort tends to originate in the sac and supporting structures around the liver itself. Your liver has gone through a lot of stress and as you (it) recovers, there tends to be a lot of activity in the area and that's likely what you're feeling. It will improve. So do your best to stay confident and maintain a positive outlook. You've got every reason to look forward to the future. From here it looks very bright!! Be patient and good things will happen, it just takes time...

Hi Steven,

I know it's difficult not to have concerns.  I asked my doctor this question a couple of months ago.  This is a large teaching hospital that has treated hundreds and by now perhaps thousands of HCV patients.  As Jill stated, almost all relapses occur within the first 4 weeks eot.  My doc confirmed this, and stated they've had almost no relapses when UND at 4 weeks.  I think you're good to go.   Btw, I've had "sensations" in what appears to be the upper right portion of my liver after tx.  I like to think my liver may actually be getting better.   Time will tell.   If you're UND at nine weeks odds are extremely good you'll reach SVR.  Please keep us posted.

Good luck

Hi Steven,

I know it`s a very anxious time for you right now while you`re waiting, but I really don`t think you have anything to worry about.  In your last post you told us you were still UND at 8 weeks post EOT, and at this point your SVR is virtually guaranteed as most relapses occur within the first 4 weeks post treatment.

Relax and try not to worry, I`m sure you`ll be fine!  smile

(Ps - Sorry for the late reply, I expect Tig will chime in soon...  )

This message is for Tig, specifically or anyone who has statistical data. Ok I took 8 week harvoni treatment. I am 9 weeks post treatment and am undetectable with ALT 24 AST 26. What are the statistics I will successfully achieve SVR? The only reason I am concerned is because I still feel a slight tenderness in my liver area. Not necessarily to the touch but I feel something. Do you think it's all in my head. I've been positive and optimistic this whole time but I feel like I can't wait to hear SVR. Please let me know thanks
